Cool There's a lesson here

I've not managed to quit smoking, but, when I quit drinking,i realized that I was not going to be able to gather the strength to remain sober by focusing on hate.I was still having to live, and work around drunks.I learned to accept them for who they were, and tried to become an example of what can happen to drunks that get sober. One day,if we all live long enough,we're liable to give up something that someone we know enjoys doing. As we will know then, what it is like to be ridiculed for doing what we like ,reguardless of what others think, maybe we will be more understanding about ridiculing othersb.suede

I know someone like that, he also says he hates the smell and all that anymore but used to smoke plenty back in the day, I don't really care what he thinks on the subject though now. At one point he tryed to make me hang around some really ghetto people that smoked and said that I'll end up like them and stuff after, he's all like "I tried to give you an example but you just don't see it". I don't let it bug me though, there are different kinds of stoners and it doesn't mean that it makes like that. I fully intend on trying to make a good future for myself. If someone else doesn't like pot, thats there problem not mine.

I totally agree, those people do suck!!! However, I have many friends that no longer smoke, that do NOT have that attitude. A lot of those guys are "involuntary" quitters due to drug testing for work/school/law violations....

I really do NOT understand those peoples problem! I may quit smoking weed at some point, but I will always remember it fondly if I do so. Also, I believe it is QUITE hypocritical to look down on someone because of their choice of intoxicant. I know we can't mention other drugs, but I believe most of you would agree that "to each, his own" is a good philosophy to live by as long as the person can keep their drug use under control and not allow it to negatively effect their lives.

How bout hipocrytes that smoke pot themselves ocasionally but try to make you stop? I have an as$hole friend who keeps on keeps on nagging me every time im going to smoke but then he ends up smoking with me and the rest of my friends. And later he tells me how smoking frequently (i smoke only on weekends so i wouldnt call that frequent) will make me dumb and flatten out my brain waves and sh!t. Also everytime im gonna buy some and tell him to come alonmg and chip in hes like "geez man u buyin drugs thats fuked up" and then later he's like screw it lets get blitzed. He always smokes out **** for free.

Everytime he does that it drives me nuts! For one he tries to impose his personal oppinion on me but he cant evemn stick to it and does what he says is wrong. Is he spineless or what

But you also have to look at the person. The person may have been one of those immature teenagers that smoked because 'its cool' and basically was irresponsible to begin with, and basically used MJ as a scapegoat. So in their mind, you really should quit because it is bad.

But that happens with everything. I know when I try to explain to someone why getting drunk 4 times a week is bad, they see me as thinking I am superior - because I used to be drunk every day last year until I quit in the summer. So they see me as some sort of 'sell out' or whatever, and get pissed at me.

Sometimes they honestly believe they are helping, in which you shouldn't be pissed at them but you should feel some sympathy towards them for being confused. However, a lot of the times they are being asses

I hate those people too and that's why I promised myself never to be like that when I quit a couple of days ago.

All of my friends are (huge) potheads and I still hang out with them like usual. It's kind of weird cause it feels like I'm out of sync when we get together cause everyone except me's high, but I know exactly what they feel like, so I try not to bring down their high.

I think if you're really good friends with somebody it doesn't matter whether they smoke or not (to you or them).

I hate arrogant people, period. Some people think they're better than others for a whole variety of reasons (wealth, education, race, looks, or not smoking pot) and all of them are the same to me.
