| I HATE people who, due to personal reasons, stop smoking weed, then think they're better than you, and act all high and mighty, because they don't smoke anymore. For some reason, they think they have it SO MUCH MORE together than people who smoke. |

| Well, then, you're lucky, because those people SUCK hard core. I know someone who quit, and I make it a point not to smoke around him, but now he keeps asking me if I still smoke, and I say yes, of course, to which he'll say something like "When are ya gonna give that **** up," or "Aren't you a little old to be doing that?" Excuse me, pops, but weren't you, like, almost 40 when YOU quit?! Get a life, man. Just because it's your vice doesn't mean it should be everyone else's. |

| you know what that sounds like? sounds like those people who suddenly "see the light" from a near death experience and then after that, all you ever hear them do is preach to others about god and how he wants to save you, blah blah blah |

| That is an attitutde that must die. Nobody is better than anyone else and nobody has made betteror worse decisions than anyone else. In life there are no absolutes because there s always a variable, you. Holier than thou attitudes have noe place anywhere, for any reason.

| Yeah, I hate people like that too. My brother says he wants to quit smoking it sometime soon, he's only 18. He hasn't quit, but I know what you mean - Just because it's your vice doesn't mean it should be everyone else's. I've said that to my brother before when he was complaining about pot. | |

| If a friend of mine quit smoking and started telling me that what I was doing was bad, I wouldn't let it bother me. I'd tell them that their decision was for them, and it is my choice if I want to smoke. I'd tell them that I don't think it is bad, and there is nothing for a pot smoker to be ashamed of. After that, if they continued to press the issue, I'd reconsider their friendship. | |

| Think about this: There's nobody who hates cigarette smoke more than an ex-smoker. I'm an ex-smoker. And I absolutely despise that noxious cloud of nicotine and tar that surrounds the entryways of office buildings. It burns my eyes, the wind blowing the smoke in my direction is enough to make me wince. Why, even watching old ladies smoke is enough to get me a little upset. The $10,000 question is, "why am I so hypocritical?" I think it's because my personal identity is now based on being a non-smoker. If I'm around smokers who are obviously enjoying their smoking, I might get that "I'm missing out" feeling and regret my new vision of myself as a purely non-smoker. Then I'll feel bad about myself, and it will throw my whole worldview into wack. So I avoid cigarettes whenever possible, and slam them mentally when I can't avoid them. It keeps my personal world safe from what I think is a very tempting, very bad influence. It's just human nature. An ex-weed smoker has spent a lot of time turning the moderate herb into a really evil thing that "they don't want anyway because of this, and this, and this, and that." They're struggling really hard to keep from feeling tempted. Be kind to them, and maybe they'll be kind to you too. Come to think of it, this advice works in just about every situation anyway. Peace. ![]()

| Why on Earth would anybody want to quit smoking weed in the first place?! I think weed is the best thing this world has going for it, in terms of mind-enhancing substances go (and you'd be pretty stupid to want to try anything else.) I've never known an ex-smoker, but I do know one guy who's trying to cut down to twice a month, which is admirable. Sometimes I feel like I should smoke less. I'm not addicted, I just don't want to take a good thing for granted. |
