well, i finally moved out of my parents house this past weekend. i got a one bedroom apartment that is fairly nice (has a fireplace and a washer/dryer!) and i am really glad to finally be out on my own again. i basically got kicked out because my younger brother and his friends had a huge party over there a couple weeks ago and i was blamed by my father and stepmother for not taking enough responsibility for letting it happen, etc. oh well, they went out of town for a week the same week my younger brothers Spring Break at school was, so i think it was poor planning on their part. anyways, no more rules and i can smoke pretty much anytime i want to now when im at my newly found home. overall i feel good about moving out and am glad to be on my own again. i dont yet have internet access (except at work which is where i am right now), but hopefully will get a cable hookup going fairly soon.

i need to catch up on recent posts. cheers!

Man that sounds awesome! Next year, when I go to university in *British Columbia*, I anticipate one big trip after another

Although living on your own would have some major downsides (many of my friends lives now consist of work, school, sleep since they moved out) the freedom would be awesome.

I'm very fortunate with the situation I have. My mom doesn't enforce any rules (We even drink beers on the porch and talk all the time!) upon me. So basically, I have a 3 bedroom house, all to myself. The only thing I pay for is my car, and whatever else I want. This way I can focus on school, and not have to work 60 hours a week to support myself and live in some apartment in the ghetto. I've been blessed. The one thing she DOES dislike is me smoking pot, but she already told me "If I tell you not to do it, you're going to do it anyway, so I'll let you learn from my own mistakes." This is probably the coolest thing she ever said to me! Trust among parents and children is awesome... we have a better relationship than EVER. My father moving out only strengthened our relationship. We trust each other! It's sorta a new thing, but I'm very fortunate and quite blessed. So you kids who are living at home... just remember what you DO have! Don't take ANYTHING in life for granted! I'm free to focus on my school work, get my degrees in peace, and I have a place to stay and not have to worry about financial problems!

Congratulations on your new freedom and independance! I've been out 'on my own' for about ... 25 years now, and the thrill only wears off on the first of the month [bills], on Sundays [one more day until my work week is over] and on Thursday nights [the last of my weekend].

Sounds awesome, i sure what AB said is true, I alays anticipate growing up cause i wont have any rules and i will probly move into my friends duplex, But im sure ill have a rude-awakening, but things as a 16yr old aint too bad.
