Question SEATTLE: Why So Hard To Meet Folks?

My wife and I are relatively new up here and are having a hell of a time meeting new people up here! Everyone seems to insular and guarded that it's hard to strike up conversations about 'legal' interests like camping, much less finding a steady purveyor of bud. It's not like we smell or anything, for pete's sake!

So then, my questions to others up here in Seattle are:

a) Where the hell does one go to meet interesting people to have fun with?
b) Where the hell does one go to find some kindly purveyor of bud?
c) Is Top Gun really the best dim sum in town?

You're welcome to private message me, email me, or respond here.

Default

I've lived in Seattle my whole life (well the east side of the lake anyways). I'm off at college now but I'll be returning in less than a month. I'd say for the most part people are very friendly, and if you're into the bar scene etc (I'm too young) it doesn't seem like you'd have trouble meeting people. As for getting weed...I'd reccomend taking a trip to the U-District (specifically University Avenue). It can be a scary place at night, but at the same time I have seen kids smoking weed on the streets. During the daytime it seems that most of the homeless kids from the city collect there and hang out. There are also lots of strange shops/bars, and a really cool head shop but the name slips my mind right now. I wouldn't count on it as a place to score a reliable connection...but it is definately a place where you can score (or get mugged...be careful). I hope you like the area (minus some of the weather)...and I think you'll be happily surprised to find we have some of the best bud in the country if you can find the right hookup. I hope my stoned rambling helps you out!

PS - Sorry but I've never been to Top Gun

Default did you find what you were looking for?

I'm new to the area and asking the same questions you are. Did you have any success finding what you're looking for? I'm looking mostly for the answer to question B. Can you help a brother out? Feel free to email or post reply here, if you still subscribe. Thanks.

Cool

like the other guy said, try the u-district or "the ave" other good places to look are broadway, and golden gardens which is a beach in ballard. If you can't find anyone at any of those places on a friday night you're doing something wrong. If you're old enough you can check the local club/music scene.
