I live in a north-west suburb of Sydney. Population is about 10 000 I think. It's a rich-bastard area but we're not rich, not by a long shot. It's a really nice suburb, very hilly and thick in vegetation. Most people around are friendly, except that is changing with the suburb's growing economy.

Violence and dealing has increased recently with our local shopping complexes, which has in turn, increased police numbers. It's VERY rare for me to walk to the shops from home (10 mins) now without seeing a cop car or a cop. It's good in that it keeps crime low but I feel like I live in a world of big brother. I don't even have to mention how this affects stoners in our area. Although I don't hear about many "drug busts", it's pretty sketchy for a teenager/young adult to walk around with weed in possession without feeling vulnerable.

Being in a rich area means having to deal with rich sons and daughters. Even though I know it's a stupid stereotype, there are a surprising amount of people who do fit in with the "snob" and "elite" attitude. It's ok though, usually by the end of highschool, those people have been put in place by the more laid back, down to earth people.

Well hey, I went into more detail than expected.

my city Kamloops orginally meant in indian the "meeting of 2 rivers" becuz theres the main river named the Thompson river coming down from the north and it breaks into 2 the north and south thompson rivers respectably.

theres about 90,000 ppl living here and we have are weather extremes from -10 snow everywere to 35+ degrees under the blistering sun, the area around kamloops is like a desert and the whole city is pretty much in a valley, its pretty sweet living here becuz theres not much major crime and theres plenty of bc dank to be smoked

I live in the DC area, but my actual city is only 30,000, but we still get dank ass buds. Most people, in high school (pun intended ) at least, smoke pretty regularly, so its a pretty tight place to live

Something i noticed in USA is that the largest city of the state is never the capital. I know that there is got to be at least a couple that goes against this, buts its pretty much like this everywhere. While in Brazil is the oposite, the largest city is always the capital but there is only 1 state that goes against this.

weird....

I don't know exactly how many states this applies to, but there are certain small population states where, if not for the capital, you wouldn't know of ANY cities there. I don't know of any cities in Wyoming other than it's captial Cheyenne, for instance. Here are a few states with capital cities that are the largest-

Wyoming - Cheyenne
Georgia - Atlanta
Iowa - Des Moines
Arizona - Phoenix
Oklahoma - Oklahoma City
Arkansas - Little Rock
Indiana - Indianapolis
Colorado - Denver
Utah - Salt Lake City
Idaho - Boise

It's not a complete list and I didn't verify the accuracy completely, but I didn't see any other big towns in those states that stood out more than the capital.

But I know where you're coming from - For all the major cities in the US, especially the ones that might be known outside of the US, like New York, LA, Dallas, Houston, Las Vegas, Chicago, or St. Louis - none of these are the capital cities. But Atlanta is a pretty major city and it's the capital of Georgia. Well, that's enough geography for one Monday.

And if I'm wrong about the cities, someone drop a line here and educate me.

Hatford is the both capital of Connecticut and it's largest city. Not that Hartford is realy worth going to. Same is true for Providence, both the capital and largest city of Rhode Island....but Providence is worth going to.

Right now I live right in the middle of downtown Denver. Theres a lot of stuff to do around town, but about 95% of it involves drinking, so I mostly go on bike rides, or to the movies or something. The cops around here don't ever give me any trouble, but then again I am not a minority (this is not meant to be racist to anyone reading this). Usually I can't go to work (I'm a bike messenger downtown) without about 4 or 5 people throughout the day asking me if i need bud. And there is a marijuana festival set for June, 1st at city park, which is like 5 blocks from my house, so thats cool.
I moved out here anout 6 months ago from a small town of about 7,000 people in Michigan, which kind of sucked. It's was big enough to have a crapload of cops, and all of the suburban wasteland crap youd ever need, but small enough to still have small town ideals about weed. Which meant if you were under the age of 25, and weren't wearing Dockers with a Polo shirt, then you were going to get pulled over and searched by the police. The only thing I miss about living in a small town was that my house was about 1 mile away from State Game area, which is land owned by the state that can not be sold or developed on.

still that not even 10 out of 50. Brazil has 26 states and 24 the largest city is the capital. Another thing i noticed cities with their state name is not the capitar like NYC is not capital of NY as Kansas City is not Kansas' capital. Here the city of Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro are the capitals of their states which have the same name. I know this goes against Okalahoma City, but as i said its not all, just some. And i was high so give me a little credit...
