Thumbs up Spring 2002 Grades

Well, another semester in my looonngg college career is over and I felt pretty good about the year. I smoked pot every night, minus the last month for a drug test I recently passed (woohoo!), and I got a 3.14 GPA. Yay for me!

I know we have a lot of other smart stoner students at various institutions of academia around the world on these boards. We're everywhere! Colleges, HIGH schools, middle schools (hopefully not smokin), grade schools (you best not be smokin, fool). I'd love to here how everybody did this year.

Very well actually. My average is at least a B for both semesters (in unversity), maybe higher (last few marks havn't come in yet).

I think a lot of stoners are quite smart, just getting a bad image.

My year went quite well schoolwise. I smoked a decent amount of weed and I still got great grades. I think my cumulative GPA (this is high school might i add) is around 4.3 on a 4.0 scale. I'm in the like top 7% of my class too. And scored a 27 on the ACT.

I think the reason that all the grades that have been posted are good is simple, the people who didn't do well aren't gonna brag.

Although, I'm breaking my own reasoning right now. I had a really sh*tty academic year. I went from last year being at the best school in St. Louis to kinda half-assed working on a High School program through the mail to getting my GED.

Don't think that this is all due to pot, however.(I had really terrible Freshman and Sophomore years at said school and really had no choice but to leave. I was on the verge of suicide(not kidding here) and was about to snap, so I left. The only problem was my timing...I left in the middle of the year. That made going to another school that year impossible. So we tried the mail thing through the University of Missouri. It didn't work out. I realized that teachers are there for a reason...to teach. Without someone explaining to me how to do things that I'd never learned before(Chemistry, for example) I really did terribly. So I decided that it would be much better for me to just get a GED and go to community college for a year or two and then apply to a "regular" college.

I've really got no bloody clue what I'm going to do with the next 60 or 70 years and I'm really just kind of lost. Hopefully once I get to college I'll find something that I'm interested in and I can find myself something to do with life that I enjoy. Right now I'm just trying to clean up the mess that my little episode with depression caused.

PS: For those of you from St. Louis reading this message, NEVER EVER let anyone you know go to SLUH. It will make them want to kill themselves. That place has the highest suicide rate of any school in the St. Louis area, or so I've read. It's not a good place. Remember, friends don't let friends go to SLUH.

that sucks about ur bad year brad, i also had a subpar year, (only a 3.2 this semester which is ok with me, but my parents expect a 3.5 or higher which is bs) but you can do things after you get your GED. and about SLUH, i have some friends that go there and say it is very tough.

That wasn't my major complaint with the place. Sure, there is an insane workload, there is no doubt about that. What made me nearly go off the deep end is the elitism. It is the worst school in the area to go to if you don't have a trust fund. I'd rather go into East St. Louis and risk being shot than go back to SLUH.
