Hi everyone, I've been a long time lurker who's just registered to post. Anyways I thought I'd share with all of you the news I heard today. i have a cousin, he's a good kid, clean record and just finished college and is on his way to med school. I never even suspected he was a smoker. Turns out yesterday him and his friends were busted growing 3 pot plants in their apartment. Now their all out on bail and waiting for trial and my cousin's future is in jeopardy just because of a few pot plants. There was no intent to sell, no scales found, no bags just the plants. The details I've heard are sketchy since I heard it from my mom. It never really hit me just how crappy the drug laws are. I mean I knew they sucked but it didn't really hit till I heard the news today. It's really stupid that a good student who's on his way to being a doctor is about to lose his future for a victemless crime. Anyways, just had to get this out. BTW, I'm new here it this thread seemed to fit here but if it doesn't feel free to move it.

Second, ya i think it's right... maybe protecting your rights though, i dunno, don't worry about it and just try your best.

Third, im very sorry to hear about your cousin, the drug laws do suck very much. It doesn't hit ya how bad they are until someone close to you actually gets hit by them eh? I can say i've had a few close calls, and someone i knew got caught too (not as close as cousin though), so i can sorta relate.

Anyways, I hope he pulls thru, tell him to get a good lawyer, and uhh.. deny they were pot

Fight the good fight and maybe one day growing plants in your house will be legal.

If the judge has any good sence is going to let them go easy and give just a little slap, but tell him to get a good (blood[$$$]sucking) lawyer.

Since you didnt ask for any legal advice i'll let it stay here.
