| I know, the U.S. is the best place on Earth, blah blah blah ![]() But if in spite of all these great reasons for living here, I decided it sucked and wanted to leave for another country, where would a young American male with skill in computers be able to make a decent living without too much interference from the local government? I'm not adverse to learning a new language or being a minority. Trees and nice scenery are a plus, deserts and hot summers are a negative. Blatant consumerism at the cost of all else is also a negative and an overly religious, but family-oriented, country could be scary as well. I'm basically looking for a happy medium with good scenery, some history, and Internet access. Marijuana-tolerant is a plus but not a requirement.

| Canada of course. I currently work in a software development company, so no short of those here. We're leniant, and we have many cultures in one. Canada's great ![]() Outside of here, i'd suggest either Netherlands or Japan.

| Canada is alright, but there are many things wrong with it... The government (at least in my province, and with the PM) is corrupt and the people are too passive and will never band together. Only so-called 'scandals' devised by the media or something involving the US putting us down stirs people up. I would go to Paris, I love that city. Unfortunately, you can usually only get hash. |

| The economy is stable, the cost of living is low and you can't beat the scenery. Click Here.

| The Netherlands (Holland) of course. The economy is good, scenery outside of Amsterdam is beautiful. So green and luscious. The language would be a barrier but I's day 90% of dutch people speak english. The food is also great. Krokets(spelling?) are delicous. Don't fprgete thje coffee shops.

| I'd suggest Italy. There are few places better for history or scenery. The people are laid back and most will party until the sun comes up. The only downsides are of course having to learn Italian(which isn't hard) and it gets bloody hot there. The food is terrific, and so is the wine. I'd suggest Naples, Venice, or Palermo(on Sicily). Rome is nuts, and if you're not Catholic you might not want to have all that Pope-y stuff goin' on. ![]()

| I'd say Australia, but the our government is trying to be as ****ed as the US. Other than that, it's a really great country.
