Every free day I have had this summer, I have spent helping a relative finish restoring a very old house on an island. It's awesome... many people grow MJ, I can just walk around smoking a joint, and most of the people are just cool.

Anyways, a few weeks ago someone pointed to an island nearby and said 'You see that, that's where the pope is stating. I hadn't heard much about this, but for World Youth Day (some huge catholic celebration) the pope is going to be going to Toronto.

He has been here for a day or two, and either tonight or tomorrow I am going up with some friends to check out Strawberry Island and see what's going on with the pope.

...as you can tell, this was planned last night when we were very stoned

But I figure it'll be pretty cool, seeing how he is considered a world leader and stuff

I got to see the pope back in 1998 at a youth rally. It was incredible, something like 50,000 youth catholics packed into a small arena to pay homage to the pope. It was for sure the loudest i've ever heard a crowd be. Seeing the pope is truely a once in a lifetime oppurtunity, and I'll always be able to tell my kids that I saw the pope in person. Your lucky because this is probably the last the John Paul will be away from the vatican.

never saw the pope, but i dont hate him. I cant have a guy that has to put up with the **** that those catholic priest did.

(edit: i wonder if the pope smokes weed,,,,)

i highly doubt it, as he is the head of the Roman Catholic Church, seeing the pope in person would be something i'd consider doing, but im way out here in bc so it aint gona happen

I read an interesting thing in the latest time magazine... in an interview with Tom Clancy he said that 'anti-Catholicism is the last respectable prejudice'. It's sad but true... we can laugh at the priests (the vast majority who AREN'T child molestors) and say whatever we want, but saying anything negative about blacks, jews, chinese, korean, etc., is forbidden. That's tolerance for you

Anyways, I am not Catholic, but I am just going because of what Slightly Stoopid said... it's a once and a life time thing.

He should smoke up though, he has many health problems... Maybe I'll try and tell him when I see him

And I'm going to be at "Fayes Cafe" tomorrow night shooting a performance video.........it may be the last land gig I do,so if you're not standing in line somewhere,waiting for that once in a lifetime chance to see someone famous, you can catch me at 8:30 and again at 10:00.

I would'nt pass to see the pope if I had the chance, but it is nothing I would look forward too. He seems pretty sexist to me. He also needs 2 days rest after a 5 hour flight? Seems like the whole thing in toronto was him resting after a few hours of work.
