i'm going to high school next year. and for so long i've just never been one of the popular people. i'm usually friends with nice people, but usually when someone's mean, i'll just kind of not talk around them, and i kind of alienate myself around them. they don't even have to be that mean, they could just be sarcastic to me or pick out things i do wrong all the time, and if they do it before i get to know them i'll just shut them off. and i'm unsure if i'll make friends next year, cause i'm not a jock and already the mean people have been spreading bad word about me, and i'm just worried. i think when i don't talk around them they think i don't like them, when i usually do, i'm just afraid that no matter what i say they'll make fun of it. i'm gonna try to be relaxed around them, but it'll be real hard. do you think high school might be different for me?

not a chance man. high schools usually have about 2 - 3 middle schools feeding in to them. well, depending on how big of a town you live in. i went into high school with everyone hating me in 8th grade and now i probably see about 3 or 4 out of the 150 (?) i had in my 8th grade "team." my middle school had teams which sperated the kids into 4 different teams and some teams didnt even see others. relax, people are much nicer in high school, always some one willing to be your friend

*Dude.... It is high school. People are a*sholes and there is nothing you can do about it. Is it going to matter what people tought or said about you in four years once all of that **** is over? Anyways don't take **** from anyone and find yourself a couple of friends that enjoy smoking and f*ck the rest of them!

You should remember too that EVERYONE goes through all sorts of changes once they hit high school. People decide to try pot, learn to drive, meet new people etc etc. Middle school will soon seem like a distant memory.

when i first got to high school, i met many new people. i was still friends with people i knew in middle school, but i made alot more friends. of course there were idiots who i didnt like but instead of resorting to violence, i just ignored them and enjoyed my life. you should easily make many friends in high school. and forget about your friends from middle school, you will probably not even see many of them very much. good luck and enjoy high school, its preety fun.

Remember what grade school was like and how hard it seemed back then to make friends and fit it? I'm talkin' like in 2nd grade?

HA! Neither do I! High School will be like that when you get past it and you will have a hard time remembering why you even were so freaked. Relax, chill and just enjoy the friends you make and be a kind soul.

You'll be fine. But if by some chance you're teased or whatnot, don't worry about that because it won't matter. When I was in highschool there was so much bull$hit going down and you look at it happening and just shake your head because it's petty. And looking back on that now I laugh because it was the typical highschool drama that everyone went through and it doesn't matter at all now. Don't worry about it.

social life in hs is really f*ckin weird...

really, one of the upmost points i can make is diversify friends, dont hang out the with the same people doing the same thing all the time, i did that part of sophomore year, and after a few months, i seriously wanted to tear this kid a new asshole

dont make friendships based on weed either, i know this is going to sound crude coming from someone who enjoys the buddha, but dont hang out with weed/drug fiends... theyre not very good... amotivational people who will talk about nothing but smoking pot, and when the next time theyre going to get pot is, and who itll be from...

dont base ur hs life around weed, because really, the only people wholl do that are those who have no other interests, dont make urselves one of those people if u want anything of a social life

also, sarcasm is the way to go, u sound kinda uptight - guy, my advice, play along with the jokes, dont always live life with a log up ur ass and have a little fun with people, if someones playing mindgames, play them right back...

what else can i say... dont BASE UR LIFE ON WEED, theres SO MUCH MORE -- this coming from an avid everyday-type hs smoker, make it a sideactivity sort of, not so much ur whole life, as just a small portion of what makes u who u really are....
