Default A question for Californians....

....or anybody who knows, I guess. I've been smoking for a couple of years now, but really have no idea what strains I've been smoking. I keep hearing everyone talk about Northern Lights, White Widow, and various other strains, but I have no clue what strain I've been smoking.
I'm just wondering if anyone knows what the most common strains (beside Mexican dirt weed) that are grown in California are.Like, I know white widow is grown on the East Coast, but what are the most likely strains you can buy in Cali?! Just curious as to what I've been smokin'.
Thanks for your help.

no one knows what strain of pot their smoking in west australia as far as i know (unless they buy the seeds and grow their own)
most of them say 'northern lights' cos it was in some movie or something so thats all they know... most people dont even know what an indica and a sativa are

like once someone had some "northern lights" that was clearly a sativa strain (most pot here is) i tried to explain it to him but he just looked confused...and said words to the effect of 'its good ****'. oh well... honestly i dont really care, as long as its big sticky sugar-frosted nugs of goodness

though i would really liek to try some pure 'knock your ass down' indica stuff, would be a nice change from the usual head-rush type of ganga i get... i guess its cos of the climate or something, sativas really thrive in the land down under and can grow to epic proportions.... and apparently the UV radiation that gives 2 out of 3 people skin cancer makes good herb even better

the only dank herb that is regularly around here is a local strain called "fallbrook chronic" named after the neighboring town its grown in. what trips me out about the stuff is the crystals are always a yellowish color.

other than that, its different stuff every time, mostly sativa. only one dealer i know actually sells strains like ak-47, white widow and the like...
