| Just curious, why would your b/f just pull the weed out right there?! She probably means the cop pulled it out? My b/f said he asked for some of it back, but the cop refused lol... sometimes ya got to know when not to push the issue, ya know? Andie, what's up with all these horrible parent stories, you murder a sibling or what? |

| I was a horrible excuse for a daughter from 13-17. I had a rought time growing up with a lot of abuse, and when I was 11 my dad was diagnosed with bi-polar disorder and alcoholism. He also lost his job. After a few years of therepy, the abuse stopped, and I went wild. I mean, when you've been beat up a lot, then it stops, and you know they CAN'T do it anymore, what's to stop you? Grounding did nothing for me. They had absolutely no control over me, and I was seriously messed up in the head (ie very depressed & suicidal). Although the abuse stopped, my fathers illness progressed as we went through bankrupcy and a few other issues. To this day, he has yet to find a treatment for his bi-polar, and his own suicide attempts didn't end untill I was 17. It was at that point, his last attempt, that I sat down, and wrote my letter. I expressed all my feelings of my own depression to him in a loving respectful way. I asked him to talk to me when he got that depressed, because I understood what it felt like. I told him about my hopes for my own future and that he was part of them. Suprisingly, he wrote me back. I carry the letter in my wallet, and pull it out when I get upset, and it reminds me I'm not alone. When I recieved his letter, I started opening up to him more, as he did with me. Thus, we graduated from a child/parental authority relationship, to an adult friendship. I love my dad very much and he's my best friend now. I've learned things that he never could have told me as a child that explain my past, and all is forgiven. But, it is still my past, and I remember it well. I'm thankful for everyday, and in my own progress as a person as a whole. Together, we have figured out a lot of things that might not have been spoken about if it had never been for our letters. Hence, I think it makes an enormous difference when teens are willing to confront their parents in a loving, yet respectful manner. Hindsight is always 20/20! (Sorry, Off Topic, and probably To Much Info, but you asked, and I don't mind sharing. ) Keep the cool cop story's comming, I don't want this thread closed because of me....that would be, uh...BAD!!

| "Hence, I think it makes an enormous difference when teens are willing to confront their parents in a loving, yet respectful manner." Um...wow. Heavy. Don't quite know what to say, but what you said has been taken on board. Anyway, I was out on the streets at about 1am, and this cop searched us. I had an 1/8, and my friend a 1/4 (he was happy to smoke up with me, but he never said anything about his 1/4). The cop's face lit up as he took the weed. He basically just told us to go home. Better than getting busted I, guess. |

| Wow, am I glad I opened this thread. That's a very enlightening story AndieBear. I agree with Heathen's sentiments 100%. And.. Bongzilla.. a deserted chinese mall in Toronto? Geez.. I guess I don't get around as much as I thought I did I do love them Toronto cops though. Even when I was walking down a dark residential street, smoking, in a black trenchcoat, two cops saw me from across the street, nodded and went back to talking amongst themselves.Never run into an undercover cop though. Better knock on wood ![]()

This place is PACKED 24/7. I went there at 3.00am and it was still busy. But this was the first time I have actually seen cops around that area, most of the time they stay away. | |

| Time Square? Isn't that near the Eaton Centre? If so, you were right around where I used to live... don't remember any malls other than the Eaton Centre and The Bay though. I still 'live' in TO (but not really.. I know, my location is kinda cryptic ) but I'm around the Davisville/Eglinton area now.. |
