I've always kinda wondered about this in different parts of Australia... and the rest of the world too, I guess. I've never seen any reliable figures for it, so these are just my observations.

Around here, maybe one in ten people has never tried weed. I'd say about 50% are regular or occasional smokers, 10% have been regular or occasional smokers at some stage, and the other 30% have smoked once or twice.

Although that's just guesses for people aged 14 - 20...

Any thoughts?

Im from Tasmania, and down here EVERYONE smokes weed. I mean, what else is there to do? and there are so many remote areas here that growing mass quantities is no problem what-so-ever.

yeah I'd have to say those % are probably right for 15-25 year olds.... since I started smoking only about maybe 10% of the ppl i've talked to about it have said they don't/haven't smoke(d)....

Hmm, i'd say about 70% of my school have smoked before, and about 20% smoke regularly. That's about the most accurate estimation I could make about how much people smoke around here. Most people in my school are 12-18 years old.

Here in South Australia I'd estimate about 50% of the population have tried it at some stage.

Of my age group (16-25), about 90% of ppl I know have tried it, with about 30% being regular smokers (once a week).

melbourne here, l'll have to say a fair bit of ppl smoke down here.
like EeJay's skool, mine is pritty much the same. around 40% have done or r doing it.
