Where can a brotha get hooked in Brasil?

My friend is going to rio and bahia, and mentioned it to me. Naturally, always thinking about the sweet green leaf, I remembered the thread entitled, I believe, "Oh 400 heavenly grams!" or something like that

So does doritosman or anybody else hailing from Brazil know where in rio and/or bahia you would go to ask around for herb? How many people in brazil speak english? How sketchy is it to ask on the street? I'm intersted in answering these types of questions, so my friend will know where to go and what to do to score some green when she's in Brazil.
