Well about a week ago my parents found my pipe and they drug tested me and i came up positive. My parents are going to be randomly drug testing me and they said it's gonna be for a long time too . Anyway I was just wondering if any of ya'll knew a way to get around this or should i just quit smoking? I really don't want to quit smoking weed but I don't know if I have a choice since these drugtests will be completely random.

if i were you id just stop all together...theres really nothing you can do about completely random drug tests.

and if your parents are gonna do something extreme like call the cops , its wisest to, unfortunately, quit.

hmm, as long as u dont gotta piss the second they give u the cup or whatever then jus get a friend like to come over the nite u gettin tested and piss for you, or if they wanna see u fill the cup u could use those things in hi times its like a little sack with a tube u put in your shorts. ahah these are prolly dumb ideas but im ****in baked

If its just your parents testing you and they arent going to do anything...I say what the hell. From the sounds of it all they are doing are drug testing you and if they do not call the cops then I see no reason to quit.

If they would do something extreme then quit all together, probably the easiest and only way if they are going to randomly test you spur of the moment.

Sorry to say this, but if you're not an adult, they are in charge. This point is an issue of law, and that makes it serious for them. If they don't take the matter in their hands, they could be up for serious problems themselves. The WOD in the US is at such a fever pitch, it's turning the country into a police state. In my thinking, the worst thing that can happen to a parent is to have the state (i.e. law enforcement, school administration, what have you) involved as the first party to discover their kids are smoking MJ. Hell, I just read where an 11 year old is being charged with a FELONY because a teacher left a computer system "open" - used a password, got into the system and left the room - then the kid changed his/her own grade! That was it!

So, man, you got busted, and that's a bummer I know. Those home test kits are around $15 each, so they're not going to test you every week. Since they're probably not using a lab, it is actually much easier to fake the test (temperature, metabolite content, etc.) If they insist on watching you pee, well, there's a problem. You can dilute a sample with warm water, but there's no guarantee that will work. Can't hand them a sample at 140F and expect that to go unnoticed, either.

So, the fact is, they've been prompted by the "discovery" and they're going to do whatever they think they can and should to stop you. When you have kids, you'll understand. It's a reflex, which develops from the time your kid is born. Every time the kid trips, you jump to catch them. Every sniffle is checked for signs of a cold or flu. They worried every time you ran, investigated every item in your hand - pulled stuff out of your mouth that wasn't edible - every hour of every day for the first two years of your life. After that, it didn't get easier. Now, their reactions are stronger than ever, and their obligations are re-inforced as a matter of law and social pressure. Even if no one else knows, they are pressured to keep it that way. They may even panic trying to save you from yourself.

You simply must, I'm afraid, accept the fact that until you're an adult, they are in charge. There isn't any one of us that didn't think that was a major b*tch from age 12 forward. What do you have, 2 or 3 years left? I know without a doubt that at age 16 that sounds like eternity. By age 25, you discover that 2 years flies by the way 2 months do now.

Wait it out. If you're going to bet, bet that if they've given you a test, the next one will be more than a week off. Smoke that day, if you're going to sneak as much as you can. Otherwise, consider the trade off. Are you ready to launch your adult life now? I did at 16 - it was a b*tch to do it, but I did it. Different reasons, and I don't recommend it.

Respect your parents. You see the computer your typing on? They bought it. You see the roof over your head? The food in the refrigerator, the CLOTHES on your back? THEY BOUGHT IT!

Until you start paying for everything, respect them. It's a *****, I know. But if you're that DEPENDANT on getting ****ed up - I believe you give all Marijuana users a bad name.

Its just weed, weed is not a part of life. Just respect them, they're your parents, and they love you.

If you seriously want to do something about it to keep you smoking - talk to them about it. Let them know how you feel, and why you do it. Tell them it relaxes you. Ask them about there past Marijuana experiences. Do this WITHOUT yelling and FIGHTING! I KNOW it can be hard, trust me, I know. If they start to get mad, walk out of the room. They're more shocked then disappointed. They probably don't know how to handle the situtation. Just talk to them about it.

But i stand by my statement, if they still drug test you. Just quit altogether, it would be the respectful thing to do.

Mention that the drug testing is NOT going to renew any trust, and will only escalate the issue. If they insist, go along, but reinforce that as much as possible, in a mature way.

How old are you, and how are your grades in school? You could look at this as an opportunity to improve your life, get good marks, and go on to post-secondary. I'm not saying it's impossible to get good grades while using pot, (I should know), just that consistent good marks and a negative test speak much truth.

Dialogue with your parents is much better than outright refusal or rebellion. Learn as much as you can on this subject, and learn how to express it in an intellectually sound manner. If you can show them that it is no different than having a drink every now and then, and show that in practice as well, you've gone a long way. Like I said, reinforce the lack of trust, and tell them that drug testing is not going to help at all, but go along with it. Don't use pot during this time, that's not going to help the situation at all.

As far as I'm concerned, if you have to smoke dope to function, then you seriously have to examine your lifestyle...
