Finals are coming to an end, my dorm room is barren, and my car is loaded with stuff. So this thread serves two purposes - first I want to say goodbye for two/three months.

Second, I was wondering who else is going away for the summer?

Going home has both bonus and bogus: I won't be able to smoke as often (cause of the rents) but I will have access to some fine country homegrown.

Hell, that's even worse! You might as well tell us you have a car and no gas. Spend $15 on a crappy 56k modem and a phone cord, start up with some internet provider offering a free months usage or so, then go to one of these places that offers something like 10 hours a month on dial-up for free. There's no need to rough it these days!

This is what you do....

Get one of the AOL discs (like I'm sure you don't get them in the mail every damn day) and use that Trial Offer. Which theses days is ridiculous. Something like 45 days and 1000 hours. Use that until it runs out, cancel the membership. They AOL rep will probably ask you why you don't want to continue with it. Just say you "didn't have enough time to decide what to do".

My dad does this and has been getting free internet on and off (mostly on) for 2 years.

Thanks for the suggestions, but it's not really my decision - the rents don't want it because of all the porn, violence, filth, and garbage that streams out from the 'net. Oh, and did I mention the new TV? lol

I also think they're scared of viruses and hax0rs... though lord knows why anyone would want to hack the home computer.

That sucks man. I guess we'll all see you next school year? Make sure to go the library for the internet sometime just to say what you've been up to.
