Well its the mourning after as I type this, and I feel pretty sh*tty. Last night, I was caught smoking marijuana with a friend in my car parked in an empty paking lot, in an inconspicous corner. You can allways joke about a cop comming up to your window, and having excessive amounts of marijuana smoke waft out of the car in their face like the car was on fire, however its no joke for me thats what happend. We just finished off about 5-6 bowls, probably smoked 2 grams just before they pulled up.They had us get out of the vehicle, and they began seaching my car (obvously with cause it literally looked like my car was on fire).They asked me if they were going to find any more than the 1/4 or so my friend had on him. I just came clean with it all, "yeah, theres roughly 20+ grams in a backpack in the back seat,scale,baggies" the whole 9 yards is what I told them.I had more like 26 grams to myself and my friend a 1/4, well over 30 grams between the two of us. Well they told me since I came clean/co-operated, and im only 17, and the pot laws are abit relaxed in Canada here im only going to get possession, and I got a appearance notice for court to adhere to my possible punishment maby a fine or N/A, I donno. They ran me through their system and my official charge was "Possession of cannabis marijuana contrary to section 4(5) of the CDSA (controlled drugs and substances act)" , I am REALLY REALLY REALLY lucky I did not get other charges like trafficing, intent to distribute, paraphenalia, DUI , I was guilty of it all, I knew it I came clean and they knew it.

Well that about sums up my last events of lastnight, but this is not the end of my problems.I just started an office job that I recently signed all these things saying I have no criminal record, yata yata, and its a full-time job. Just finished my 1st week of their training and I donno if they did their criminal background check on me yet.And they expect 100% attendance, however I have to show up to court on a work day . Not good at all, but I will think of something I guss.

So im all good at the home, my mom was more or less talking me down saying the charges are not all that bad its not as bad as I think.I dont blaim my parents though, its my fault I got busted and its all MY pot even though the initial sum was free. No more dealing for me, im out, for now on im only about petty amounts of smoking like it use to be,no more ounces, QP's the "gangster life" for me im done. Im 17, graduated high school with a full time decent paying office job, more than most accomplish in 25 years where im from, I have alot going for me, I cant have no more of this sh*t to ruin my life.

sry this post is so long, its my way of venting last nights events, however Im looking for abit of advice or reference.Im in Canada where can I find info on the CDSA act? Will possession go on my record, and im a youth even, so im wondering about my record. It was my understanding that possession does no go on your criminal record anymore, I have possession under 30 grams.What may be my possible punishment?

Well thanks for hearing my story, I know I f*cked up and this sh*t aint good, but it could have been alot worse.

dont worry there wont be much of anything on your record cause all they charged you with was posessiona ltghough the amount u had may be a deciding factor...just wait for the next few days for a call from a cop, mny friend got busted and they called him a few days later and told him to rip up the ticket...oh well who knows...best of luck Jadron20 let us know how it goes

Oh forgot to say, I wont be getting a phone call, but a letter or something in the mail about my court date and proceedings. At least they never cuffed me, they said I fully co-operated and told no lies and showed no sign of being a threat so there was no need.Hopefully my good behavor will play a factor in court.

Edit: Oh and to top it off they took my $60 glass pipe my ounce, I donno bout my scale i never saw them actually book it with all the other stuff, i think they "overlooked it" I wont know till I get back to my car later today. So around about $300+ at a personal loss because of this.

that sucks even more the pot i understand but they shouldnt have taken the pipe or the scale cuadse they didnt book you with intent to distribute..oh well i thinkt he fact that they let you off with posession is good enough

What province are you in? Cause if its in Ontario you're in the free and clear (but I'm guessing you're not cause you would probably know that). And if you hadn't heard, Marc Emery is going around getting arrested in different provinces because his interpretation of that court ruling states that pot is legal in all of Canada, not just Ontario.

Im in Saskatchewan, a place probably unheard of by most americans, its fairly relaxed here from what I can tell

damn, that is a total drag, dude...I don't know a thing about Can-
ada's laws, but in the US, any misdemeanor committed by a youth
is wiped clean at 18. Good luck to you & we all hope everything
works out fine.

Im looking at a fine under $1000, up to 6 months in jail (wont happen), kind of puts me at ease.

Zoltron: your right my record is cleared at 18 but my court day is 2 days before my 18th birthday , however I was 17 when they busted me.

What Im going to do is plead guilty to possession and thats it, I can deal with that. As long as its just possession. I think a LARGE part of me getting off so easy is that im 17 but the guy I was with is 18 and hes getting the same charge I am for 3 grams (it wasent a 1/4 like I thought or the cops downplayed the amount as to us not being charged for trafficing and intent to distribute).

I had my own car, enough dope to choke a donkey,scale,bags the whole 9 yards.He thought I was still in high school and said I couldent make it in the real world if I did this sh*t. Well I proved him wrong when I told him im grduated high school and have a full time job, blew his mind.Its not the smoking of the marijuana that is screwing me, its "the man" saying that I cant do it, so why should it be illegal if the only trouble you get in is because its illegal.The system is f*cked.
