Peace seeker, that was cool. Sounds like Andy Rooney. Ah, those Sunday evenings when nothing was on TV except Sixty Minutes. tick tick tick tick. Better to go outside and play.

I am 16 and growing up in these times sucks. Its all about technology. Everyone has to have the latest technology or your not keeping up wiht everyone else. Hell a computer thats more than 3 months old is considered out of date. I agree with what was said above about tv. Now theres tonns of channels and still nothing to watch yet you watch anyways just cause. Every kid i know seems to be lazy. Younger kids more so.

"its the older generation's fault kids are raised like this"

I sumwhat agree that, but its not just parents fault its also because of pedafiles and **** liek that. Now rather then letting your kids go out untill the street lights come on parents are afraid of there children being ubducted and in order for the parents to still get there work done or housework done the children need to be entertained so the sit them down in front of the tv or computer entertaining them for hours.

If i could i would rather grow up back then. It was all so much simpler and funner seeming. I would rather be out building a go kart than sitting on my ass watchin tv ( im a little to old for push carts not though ) Liek you could have stayed waaay more entertained doing what was mentioned in other posts then you could today. Because now thers ps 2 x box all that other ****. Back then there was none of that so you made do with waht you had.
Enough rambling for me i have to go to work

Really? Wanna go back to the 1920's?

I remember when I was young I wasn't fully spoiled into the computer age. I would leave the house every day to meet my friends, go swimming at the beach or in a friends pool, just go outside all day and explore, make little houses out of the palm tree leaves, if I can call them leaves... Check out all the little things on the beach, and play simple games like hide&go seek. Eventually though, nintendo came around. I still went outside everyday, just not for as long. Then I remember having a supernintendo and my friend had genesis/sega cd. I was so impressed those days, those video game systems rocked. TMNT: Turtles in Time, Street Fighter, Super Mario World. Classic. Thats when me and my friends started playing alot of videogames and entering into the computer age.

Nowdays I have more conviences, and i'm not going to pretend that those conviences make living in this time sucky. I actually enjoy them. Most of them....

where did u find it?
Thanks, I found it on the internet searching for yin/yangs and then did some gif editing to add that weird green to it. Its kinda plain but I think its about time I settled with a less imagine intesive avatar for a little while.

Yep I remember first time riding a bike with no training wheels, no darn helmets or knee pads. My dad gave me a push off, I bicycled about halfway down the street until I lost balance and sustained the normal bike crash injuries to a hand and a knee. I remember my sister crashed her bike once with of course no safety gear, she tore so much skin off from her knee it was insane, they still left little gravel rocks under the skin after surgery. Nowdays people are wearing half ass bike helmets and overprotective padding. Safety has become something we waste our lives trying to have it wherever we are. Ahh yes, the days when we took responsibility for our own injuries, those were the days.

Thumbs up This thread brings back some fond memories!

I remember watching my dad spending all afternoon pulling tubes outta the TV set, and trying to label each tube and hole accordingly. Then heading down to 'SavOn Drugs' with TV tubes in a shoebox padded with toilet paper to test 'em out!

Hopefully there was the ONE that needed replacement that got it working like it used to.

I got hit by a car once when I was about 10 years old! I made a foolish turn and ended up on a sports car's windshield and peed my pants! My mom ran down the street and once she saw I was OK, and worried about the driver, said I shouldn't have been so careless! After all...it WAS my fault!

And nothing beat a summer day sculpting homemade play-doh made with flour, salt and food dye!

It feels like yesterday.

Thumbs up I hear ya, jebus

very funny, smart guy you know I think you're a cool kid...
but you really did miss out on the life back then...a simpler & less
stressful era, that's for sure...but you don't seem like the type to
get too stressed I think you'd have enjoyed being a kid in the
'60s...I can picture it now, Beave

I am really happy that this thread brought nice memories to everyone

***peaceseeker packs the pipe and passes it to pontoon, zolt, stoned stephanie, Herb Ninja, ...***

i remember this one time where i rode my bike straight to a rose bush at full speed..

i looked like hel*raiser afterwards

Another time, my brother was driving my dads old car. I was co driver and holding my best friend's hand, who was on the right side of the car riding his bike. So we were pulling him basically.

He had his grandpas old bike (one of those 1940's bikes) with no brakes what so ever..

So we are on this beach road doing around 40mph (dead end in front of us) and my friend is like "let my hand go LET MY HAND GO!!! (cause the road ended on a big wooden garden door)

i didnt let go until the last 50ft from the door (cheecky peaceseeker!!)

he tries to brake at 45 mph and the brakes off course snap!!!

You should have been there to see a guy with an old bike flying towards the door at full speed going "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah...BOOOOOM!!!!

the door breaks open and he lands on this rich guys garden..

my friend gets up (no bruises or anything thankfully!) and starts banging the bike on the guys wall to fix the rim cause it was way crooked after the hit.
so a security guard comes on the spot and says "are u ok?" he's like "yeah i m fine" and the security guard goes "thats one strong bike, are u selling it??"
