You make a good point, but I'm trying not to assume anything. After all, if I do assume she smokes, bringing it up casually, and she actually doesn't smoke, then I might be screwed. Remember, she IS my boss's daughter and I DO like my job.

Janis Joplin was mostly alcohol, not to say she was never dosed. This girl sounds like she would toke. I mean, she likes the dead.

Maybe try talking about some movie that had a pot-smoking scene, but isn't necassarily based on pot. Or tell her you'd love to live in amsterdam, if she asks why, wink.

I don't know if she would think I'm an idiot, because she doesn't seem like a very judgemental type person, and she likes to joke around, so she might just think I'm trying to be funny if she doesn't smoke.

I know shes a big fan of Kevin Smith movies (i.e. Jay and Silent Bob movies) so that might be a good angle to work from. I'm thinking of other movies with pot smoking scenes and there are so many. I will definitely consider that. Thanks for the suggestion, beats

Her interests point to stoner, and the way you explain her personality also makes her sound like a stoner. I think your best bet would be to bring up pot through talking about grateful dead and jay and silent bob, and seeing how she reacts to the subject.

Yeah, I think I'm gonna call her up, say something like "I was just watching Jay and Silent Bob Strike back, and damn Bluntman and Chronic are hilarious!" and just see where it goes from there. I mean, I have a bottomless array of seemingly pot-related interests in common with her, but I'm just so nervous about bringing 'em up in case she reall isn't a stoner... Damn, if she wasn't the boss's daughter this would be so much easier.

My boss is actually a woman and she is very close to her step-daughter, so I wouldn't be surprised. I'm sure she wouldn't do it as to sabotage my employment, but it would probably come up in conversation.

Man I'd say you are working with like a 95% chance that she smokes pot. I don't know these people, so your judgement is more educated than mine, but I would be very surprised if she would tell her step-mother that you smoke weed. If they do happen to start talking about you, I dont think that chick would say "Yeah, he's a nice guy, but he smokes the chron." And I don't think the step-mother would just come out and say "so, does that Rusty_Cage friend of your smoke the herb." Again, you would know better than me, but I wouldn't be so paranoyed about it. About my advice about the slang.

I just have a personal bias against people who use those words non-stop. If someone spoke like that I'd either get annoyed, or giggle for about half an hour (depends on the time )
