| A bunch of us stoners are planning a trip to Montreal. A couple of us aren't 19 so that brings us there... Just wondering ... any of you that have made the trip out there have any place reccomendations? any cool things to do? see? good tokin' spots? etc. Were planning on staying at one of the Hostelling International places in Montreal. Thanks! ![]()

| I took a trip to Montreal for 8 nights between August and September. I have tons of suggestions for you!! Me and my buddies all went up to see Dave Matthews. It was great because I was only 18 at the time so i was legal up there! You should definately stay at the Hostelling International called the "Auberge du Jeunesse" or something like that. We stayed there. The website is hostellingmontreal.com. The guys and girls who run the place are all young, TOTAL burnouts who are super cool. Every Tuesday and Thursday night they have a famous bar tour, and you go out and get trashed with people from all over the world. The place is full of cuties from all over the world....especially Australia! One thing you have to do is hike up Mont Royal. It's the only rise in the land ( I can't call it a mountain cause I'm in Newfoundland...and Montreal is super flat compared to here) in downtown. But it is a really nice park, and there is a CRAZY view of the city from up there. Bring a camera. There is also a super cool cemetary up there. The six flags amusement park is pretty cool if you are into rollercoasters and stuff. There is a really cool smoke shop call Detox that you need to go to. I forget where it is, I think its on St. Laurent though. As for finding pot, there are several parks in the area of the hostel, just go there in the afternoon and ask the black guys. If not, ask some bum. He'll tell you where to find some. I'd suggest you go take a walk around McGill, it is the most stunning campus I've ever seen. It's layed out beautifully, not to mention the girls!!! A good place to get breakfast is Nickels...not sure if you have them in Ontario. You can get a bacon and eggs and toast ETC. breakfast for like 5 bucks or so. Good food. There are a few of them on St. Catherine. |

| Had to post again...ran out of space..... This, my friend, is the only suggestion I absolutely insist you do: If you are there on a Sunday, there is a park near downtown Montreal that you need to go to. I forget where exactly it is, but just ask someone how to get to Tam-tams. Every Sunday, there are hundreds of people that go there and play drums, and there are all these hippy burnouts dancing and stuff. Then on the field right next to it there are like a thousand people just juggling, playing soccer, frisbee, guitar, banjo,...anything. Seriously man, it is like being back in the 60's. You can smoke pot in the middle of the crowd...everyone else does and the security doesn't give a hoot! It is mostly young people....I swear man it is the closest thing to the hippie generation you will ever find. It was actually the most incredible experience of my life (we were a little "extra" high though) but either way, it will blow your mind. Its just burnout rasta people all playing the drums together, with eveyone dancing in a big circle. So much energy man...it is a must see. If you're not staying on a Sunday, so should really consider re-arranging your trip. As for a few cool pubs, you may want to check out The Loft, Sharks ( billiard pub...HOTTEST WAITRESSES/BARTENDERS EVER!!!), peel pub, Cafe Campus...and lots more. Oh yeah and of course SUPERSEX!!! they have some hot ass dancers man!!! Most of the bars are on St. Laurent. You should also take a walk through old Montreal, really cool architecture. Anyway, I will probably think of some more stuff and post again....but, have a laugh!!! and if you have any questions I'll be ahppy to answer them. Let me know how it goes.!! ![]() |

| i stayed in a hostal in monteral when i went there for a grade 9 trip. it was really good and the hostal had food every morning for us. They are a great way to save some dough and you still get good accomidation. Not too sure about toking spots though... gl, montreal is a great city, being high will make it amazing |
