| OK. I thought there would be a thread about this, but I did like a dozen searches and couldnt find, so here goes: What is the marriage situation in your family? Are your parents (or you) happily married, divorced, still married but don't get along? In my family, there is no marriage really. Well, yeah my parents are married, but they really don't get along. I mean REALLY. Like they havn't slept in the same bed for as long as I can remember. They NEVER go out or anythin like that. The other day was their 25th wedding aniversary and they didn't celebrate it at all. They didn't even mention it to each other. Anway, in conclusion I am one of the 5 products of what has turned into a horrible marriage, and I hate it. My parents hate each other. So how is your family's marriage?? |

| My parents had a divorce when I was five (im now 19.) I can remember them fighting all the time but I never understood why and I still don't know why. Now I see my mom maybe twice a year since she decided to move half way across the country. They gave me a choice to stay here where all my friends are and I feel comfortable or move with her...I chose to remain here with my father. I don't regret it. She's the one that decided to move if she doesn't see me enough it's her ****ing problem. Now their both re-married. My dad's married to some lazy ***** that tried to boss me around like she was my mom and my mom to some guy who I don't know very well. My little brother doesn't even know our mom, he was like a month old when they split up and she took off. |

| My parents are married but the don't get along. Well, my dad just split on us and lives with some woman in an unknown location. I'm sure they'd get divorced if they had the money for it or anyone knew where my dad was. My mom was married before and had a kid with some guy that I'm not supposed to know about. My dad's had numerous affairs and they always argued. I just tried to keep out of the house, so I never really listened to it. Yeah, avoiding most of my family has become an art for me.

| Both of my parents were born and raised in Ireland, along with my 15 aunts and uncles, all but 2 of which is married (and one is a Catholic nun, so she won't marry anytime soon). My parents have been married for 30 years now, still together, and always will be. Not always the happiest marriage in the world, but divorce is not even an option for them, with the upbringing and religion and whatnot. I have about 40+ cousins not including marriage, many of which are married. There is not a single divorce in my family on either side, just one annulment, which came about in a very odd scenario which involved long term illness, and, get this, a gay husband. The marriage was never consummated, so the Church never recognized it, hence the annulment. A divorce in my family would be earth-shaking news/gossip. |
