Two things people can do are driving more slowly and driving a little less. If we all slowed down to the speed limit and reduced our driving by as little as %5 we could have an impacted.....but then people are selfish and lazy so...........

Its 2.10-2.40 here in Connecticut.

I've been driving my little pickup almost everywhere now since the 12 mpg on 93 octane my Stang gets is too rich for me at the moment.

Where I am I'm paying 72-95 cents a liter (not sure how much that is per gallon, but I bet I'm paying more than you Americans), it fluctuates depending on the day of the week.

Here's my complaint: People COMPLAINING and doing NOTHING.

Why not organize a little civil disobedience? Think the gas companies or the government are going to actually do anything - of course not, they are all making money and it's not like people are going to stop driving and start walking/biking.

Here are some ways to 'get back':

1. WALK/BIKE/JOG/SKATEBOARD/ROLLERBLADE/ETC.: it's a cheaper and more environmentally-friendly mode of transportation AND it makes you healthier (and you can eat carbs too!). Try doing this once a week to go to work, and if ya like it by all means do it more. Makes me feel like I'm self-sufficient when I kick my legs up and down

2. Petty Vandalism. Hey - they take from our pockets, why not show them how you feel? When the price fluctuates 15 cents in 10 minutes I like to show my support by slamming the nozzle back into the holder. Not only does it relieve stress, but I've broken a few over the years.

I'm above that kind of behaviour, but then again I'm also above simply complaining and not doing anything. How about writing what you think with a big fat permanent marker next time you leave the pump? Or make stickers and super-glue them on the pumps?

People tell me that it's just an immature way to feel like I'm getting even, and that the only people that lose out in the end are the owners. BIG DEAL. If vandalism became rampant at gas stations, think they might seriously consider settling down the angry consumers?

Petty Vandalism or Civil Disobedience, whatever ya wanna label it. Be a modern day Thoreau and **** with them back

I pay about 1.85 here in minnesota. But I for one think it's a GOOD thing. It will finally make people give a damn about those gas guzzlers (****ing SUV's and Hummers) they're driving. Hopefully it makes people more environmentally conscious, but at the very least it will make them financially conscious of there cars and the whole car society that we live in.

$1.80 - $1.90 in East Texas, but i don't drive my car when i'm just going about a mile or two. I have a little two stroke scooter for around the neighborhood. One gallon of gas+oil can last me 2 weeks, and thats with riding it everyday.
