The sheer level of ignorance of some people truly amazes me.

I told my friend about Peter McWilliams (here if you haven't read it, I definitely suggest reading it) and he was just as outraged as I was. He doesn't smoke pot at all, but he agrees with me that what happened to Peter McWilliams was outrageous and sickening. The next day, he told his girlfriend (who is very anti-marijuana) about it. She basically said:

"The only reason he had cancer was because he smoked marijuana."

....Oh my God, I didn't think people were that stupid. She said not so much the AIDS, but almost definitely the cancer. But there's more. Let's assume that Peter McWilliams' cancer was indeed caused by marijuana. When asked what she thought about Peter McWilliams not being allowed to use Medical Marijuana to control the nausea, she said (and this is the real kicker):

"Well the only reason he was vomiting is because he was recovering from being addicted to weed."

No. I'm not joking. I think this is totally ridiculous that people believe such lies. What do you guys think about this?

You can blame her for being a little pig headed, but shes not the one that spreads this crap nationwide. She reads and hears this garbage in school, on TV, and from the government so dont totally blame her, blame the lack of intelligence of the entire drug-education system. Some people take what they observe on commercials at face value. All she needs is to be shown the truth about marijuana (according to her responses though it might take a while to do that).
