I recently took some time to look at some forums that look at cannabis and martial arts and how they help or hinder. Basically, it was a waste of time. Many "experts" and forum members said it was terrible and yet the say that they haven't tried it. I think it helps on many levels.
1. It empties you mind in meditation.
2. It helps you to express yourself phisically.
3. It frees limitations of your mind allowing you to try new forms and techniques.
One more thing. Bruce Lee smoked hash and chewed cannabis roots to help him. He is my hero because he had a brilliant mind and he was a great martial artist. He died from swelling of the brain and many try to blame cannabis for this but that had nothing to do with it. If the greatest martial artist of all time endulged in marijuana, then I believe it is not only okay, it is good.

but im pretty sure marijuana is indigeonious to the milky way. how could luke smoke pot if he was in a galaxy far far away, a long time ago? yes, even pansypants sissies like luke skywalker (han all the way!!!) can be great heroes, but hes not a pot hero.

Did Bruce Lee honestly smoke Marijuana?One of my early sensai's was a very hard-core Lee fan. Bruce could jump up and kick you 5 times before landing,Wendell could kick ya 4 times.I had to stop martial arts, back injury, before i started smoking so am not real sure how it would effect performance. Although meditation is more interesting when "high", I'm really thinking being "high" would effect my responce time.Plus the fact of i am so mellow when "high' that I think it would impair my desire to fight.Even when I am not "high" my attitude is way differant than when I didn't partake. Was a fighter,mostley bar-fights, for the years I didn't smoke.Just seems funny to think one of the most prominate fighters got "high".
It is my understanding that Bruce Lee died from over-training,all the rest is just speculation.

I have always wondered if it would have been better for him to die of old age or young. Now we remember him as the god among men that he was, as opposed to having the memory of his body fail over time just like the rest of us.

I wish for his sake, he hadnt died so young, but either way, it sucks

I took karate for a long time and I really dont think weed helped at all. It's one of the only things I think it doesnt help (for me anyway). I couldnt remember my forms, I couldnt fight well, it was kind of a drag.
