| deal is marijuana is ILLEGAL. Buuuut, its on the PMs agenda this year to pass the law which makes possession under 2 ounces(i think) a misdemeaner (ticketable offence). However, the same law also makes the punishment for trafficking marijuana much worse. If you do get caught with pot though most cops are pretty chill and you will rarely if ever get charged. Worst ive heard of is a cop making somebody walk home instead of drive. My one buddy got busted speeding home at 3am with a bong in teh passenger seat totally ripped. The cop met him at his house and told his mom that he shouldnt be high and driving, and then he gave him the bong back ![]()

| The thing is the police are pretty easygoing, but the law is that if you have under 15 Gs then it's $150 fine for adults, but higher if you're driving or on school grounds. |

| how can they prove you are high while you are driving, I dont think there any tests out there to determine whether or not someone is high at that very moment. |

| I just had a law class, so I know a bit. It's still illegal, but de-criminalized. So when you're caught, they take it and fine you and you don't get a criminal record. But some cops won't do anything, and some will just take it, because they don't like paper work. It rocks to be Canadian. |

| um the bill which decriminalizes marijuana has *NOT* passed yet. There was a time in last years session in the house of commons when it seemed like the bill was going to be passed (or something to that extent), and police in several provinces (not too sure which ones, i know AB and ONT for sure), were going by the new guidelines. A few of my friends recieved the tickets ($135 misdemeanor tickets), but since the bill never actually passed they have reverted to the regular system in which you CAN be charged for marijuana possession; however this will happen rarely, if ever, since most cops are pretty nice. Hopefully in thise years session (which has just started recently), the bill will finally make its way into legal existance, and we will be able to carry our pot without fear (although we pretty much can already). If you want more detailed information i would suggest you check out the Canada forum over at the cheaptalk forums ![]() EDIT: wow the canada forum has been wiped off the face of the earth.
