I believe you're entirely correct. I don't think the feds would get involved unless it was a significant amount. what that amount would be, however, i'm unaware of. Someone wouldn't likely be prosecuted federally for, say, an oz, but I have no idea what amount would generate federal interest.....could be a qp, a lb, or multiple lbs. I honestly don't know, and haven't researched the laws concerning it, since I have no intent on crossing any national boarders with drugs of any kind on me. the risk is too great, the odds of getting caught too high

In Alaska you are allowed to have up to 4 oz's in your home. This guy who made the thread hasn't been on since then... I think he got caught =(

Here's and idea. Get a job up there so that you have to cross the border every day. Dress very conservative and be polite and always straight. After about a month you should be able to slip past. Believe me the supposed checks get very lax after a while.

Yeah, 500 sounds right to me. Means your getting a decent discount for the quantity too. My advice, when you return, do claim anything you've bought (with exception of your primary target) and pay the fees. THe best way to go is to stay a few days, bring your snowboard or something, buy a few things just to get a claim, and maybe get a mild sunburn to be convincing.

We crossed the border two days after 9/11 from Canada into the US, and they basically waved us through. Vacation, right? I'd say to bring your kids or something, but you don't wanna involve them, should you have any.

I'd also say your chances increase with age. If you are 19-25 area, yuo are much more likely to be caught. A friend of mine had his whole car stripped top to bottom, though he didn't have anything, because he was young, adn look at the demographics. Who is doing the selling?
