When Alaska voted for president we had the option of regulating pot, however half the people I talked to about it were too lazy to even register to vote! What is wrong with us!! It was 43% to 57%! If everyone who really wanted to legalize had voted.......... you do the math....

Does anyone on here live in Alaska? Cuz I was watchin a show on the Disocvery Channel about Alaska and it seems really cool to live there. If you do describe it to me cuz I would really like to live there one day.

I live in Juneau, Alaska! DaDornta lives in Anchorage, and I've only been their a handful of times, its more of a city than Juneau (300,000 compared to 30,000) I attend the local university here, and it's really lax and small. Everyone here is so nice!

It is awesome living in AK. In the summer we get like 20 hours of sun, in the winter like 18 hours of darkness, so it's a trade off. The winters are harsh, cold, wet and windy. Juneau is actually a temperate rain forest (meaning tons of fucking rain), and the second largest city in the United States of America by its size (beat by Sitka, Alaska)

My town is a tourist town, and we get about 900,000 visitors each year to downtown Juneau via Cruise Ships which pack in like sardines. The town is divided into several parts; Downtown (tourist trap), valley (suburban sprawl), Douglas island (seen in picture, bridge goes to it, quite small island community) and Auke Bay (wayyyy out the road, where the Ferry's come in, my favorite place, has the disc golf course and good camping sites, very quiet and peaceful).

It's kind of a suburban sprawl because Alaska is so unpopulated, and it's just now being developed. A lot of duplex's (2 houses connected at a side) around, my house is one included.

Although I don't mind. I live in the most beautiful state in the country and I defend that to my life! My backyard is a lake, full of ducks, fish, the occasional heron visiting! It freezes over in the winter for ice skating and hockey games, in the summer its warm enough to swim in.

I fish in the summer, sometimes working on a boat, sometimes for fun. The salmon here love me! The Mendenhall glacier is only a hop, skip and jump away from my house for some of the most beautiful hiking you'd ever experience. Countless bears and other wildlife is in abundance, and I guarantee you with the right Alaskan, you'll see some big critters in no time!

The laws on marijuana are pretty lax, although it's still illegal. Most cops just make you put it away, throw it away, or give you a warning. We also have some fucking bomb cheeba up here (albiet pricey, 60 for 8th increments, oz - 420)

Have any questions, I'd be happy to ask them. I love boasting about Alaska's greatness, I think everyone should come up here! The cruise's are really popular, and you can get great deals in the summer...

The only reason i would move to ak would be the legality of marijuana there. Plus dosen't the government pay you to live there.

While its not legal to sell it, i don't have any sources in front of my, i do remember reading that its legal to have up to like 4 oz in your home.

I heard that too but i think they did that in the old days to get people to live there but i don't know if they do it anymore... and im pretty sure weeds legal up to 1 oz not 4
