anyone from the gulf coast? what are you doing to prepare for this coming huricane season?what area are you in, who's staying who's leaving ect.,ect.
jus wanna meet some other people that went through Katrina,and what your gonna do diferent this time

I'm around the Biloxi area. I've never evacuated and never will. I don't do anything to prepare myself. Well, the only thing I buy before hand is a large quantity of weed. I did that with Katrina and rode her out by myself, stoned. When the windows blew out of the house and the roof started to fly off that's when I stood up and yelled "THATS ALL YOU'VE GOT!?".. It was fun. I was alone for 5 days afterwards and I couldn't go anywhere. I looked at it as sort of a vacation. I even got bored enough to make smoking pipes out of bamboo.

I sure can't wait until this next season, it's going to be a lot of fun.

Anyone want a pipe that went through one of the most destructive hurricanes ever?

We are preparing for power outages. Have the supplies...batteries, flashlights, food, freezing gallon bottles of water to buy time in the freezers...but, we are not evacuating again. I am just not up for it.

thats all you got? my wife and i went to boloxi like 3 weeks after katrina and it looked worst there then it did here .good to here you in high spirits though. my father is in boloxi somewere, ive been looking for him since the storm and the most i found out was that he was living in a tent in his yard.any way good luck this comming season its gonna be ,like you say (fun)

what part of the coast are you in , i was in metiarie just west of the 17th street canal breachwas out of power for 20 days i still dont drink the tap water it has a strong chlorine oder stronger than befor

I'm not actually on the coast, I'm in Orlando. We are praying it wont be bad on us this year. Charley really damaged our house, a lot. We lost power for 2 weeks here, plus more times when the other hurricanes rolled through.

florida is a bad spot for storms no matter what part. it sticks out there so far the storms just swamp it at least your not below sea level like we are.

No, we aren't below sea level, but we are still required to carry flood insurance because we are supposedly in a flood zone. Our house is on a hill. I'd sure like to know how that qualifies as a flood zone.
