Think first, if you don't like what you see, then act upon it. It could even be writing which is your action. You are more influenced by language than you know.

OK fine, how about some perspective here or an analogy if you will: let's say one grew up in a abusive home, would you stay in that home and try to solve the problem? I think one would remove themselves from the situation and solve their own problems and possibly help the abuser(s) from somewhere else.

Indeed, language is influential and ideas are important but your argument is circular; I never supported action without thought and I did not belittle the activity of writing, the simple fact is that ideas without action do not change the world nor does writing without a major audience (you can hardly argue that this forum is a major American audience)

This is beside the point. Sure, it may help to become a third party and I never disagreed with that but the harsh reality is that it would be impossible to move to another country for most Americans as, like I said, most Americans simply cannot afford it. Granted: we cannot afford it because of our economy and likewise our government. Simply put, as I said before: we've put ourselves in the shit and we are about to perish in it. There really is no other likely future. The country (arguably) is in ruins because of the government and it is sad that we (the citizens) must be the ones to suffer and find a solution for ourselves. I do not agree with our government at the moment and I ache to move abroad but once again there is not much in the immediate future that will change our position. A better president that will turn us around? Unlikely. Nuclear holocaust? Possibly. A slow and painful decline of the "American Dream" and all that our Capitalist forefathers dreamed of? That's where my bet would be.

Most of your responses, Mr Funky, read with much spite (I'm not sure for what or who) and delusion, and it doesn't make for an honest discussion. If someone finally told me the truth (I told you the truth about truth!), a polluted response such as yours holds no water. You will have to learn in the future how to know nothing about anything.

Mm. Indeed my responses are to be read with spite as most Americans are pretty spiteful and resentful of the government at this point. Though, I hope you've not taken my words as an attack on you. I do wish to have meaningful discussion in this forum and I don't think I have strayed too far from civility in proving my point. I'd like to point out that perhaps my responses have been a bit polluted but I don't see how anyone's responses will be completely unbiased and I think I'm being pretty honest (my responses are based in opinion, after all). Don't forget that your initial post was riddled with religious overtones, polluting your post as well. Let's not forget that we all have a unique perspective. It's also notable that instead of talking about our country, we are now talking about the act of talking (or writing) itself and I don't like that. I would rather debate the future of our country than meddle in the rhetoric that we each use. It's a waste of time. As for your last statement, I'm not quite sure what you mean by knowing nothing about anything. Perhaps my most important life goal is to know as much as possible about whatever I come across and whatever interests me.

It looks like we could continue to pick each other apart on specifics (trust me, I've written much on all the contradictions I read and not posted them because I understand that is not the point), so I will explain to you more of what I mean:

What I mean about knowing nothing about anything is beside the point for now.

Before you can do anything remotely progressive you must empower yourself - find a situation that likes you before you like it (or is open to you), or at least find a way to enjoy your own company at first (and I'm not saying that you don't). Everyone is a slave to their environment up to a point.

Why I get pissed is that the individual is not necessarily encouraged to unfold itself in the U.S.. Sure the world is a great place but I am very curious how many people are fed up with what they see here. And you know what? That's Fine -you can be communist, or diluted, or retarded, or even just a plain old fruitcake, just don't shove it down an individual's throat who wants nothing to do with it. How to you identify these people? A huge hint would be their dissatisfaction with their country, and guess what! You actually have to interact with them to find out! I see so many blind assumptions being made, nausea is the common result. And if you don't tell the people the truth so they can decide what they want in the first place, well you just buried yourself in crap.

You can be A-number one superpower of the world and some people still don't care because they are not concerned with their country being number one or even interested in world domination in the first place, they are concerned with the promotion of the individual and if it so happens it's in your country - good for you.

Hey, if you want world power - great! bomb the shit out of everyone - who cares, piss all over everyone, but when you piss on the wrong thing/individual/country- no one will come to your aide. And when you are attacked what are you defending? All this shit needs to made clear to everyone.

First and foremost, Americans need to stop blaming each other.
If you really want to unite, stop looking for winners and losers.
The truth is most of the world really likes Americans,
but most Americans don't like each other.

Americans need to learn that if someone wants nothing to do with you,
a huge hint would be behavior such as silence (yes, there is meaning behind silence!)
These days individuals will not say anything, they will just retire your number.
If your diluted enough to think that silence and peace in the soul in an individual
is an invitation, you need to go relearn how to think.
Guess what? These days, assuming an invitation will kill you.
In fact, assuming anything will just about eliminate your existence.
I highly recommend you take nothing for granted.
And just an fyi....teams do not choose individuals, individuals choose their own team.
