Lately Ive been wondering how much power does a normal human being have over you. Like my lacrosse coach, if he made me run an excessive ammount could I just walk away and he couldnt do anything? And hes not a school coach, its out of school.

no one can make you do anything but if you dont listen to someone that has a position over you then they decide if you are punished for example if you decide to just walk away then he can kick you off the team its all about the power pyramid and your position

You can do whatever you damn well please as long as its legal ( and as we live, sometimes illegal ). The only people who has "control" over you are Local PD, State PD, MP, Federal Agents.

What the hell? You're your own person. No one should have any "power" over you. Sure you could just walk away...

Unless the guy is some psycho he shouldnt lay a finger on you. I'm sure you would get an earfull from him but thats about it. People have the power to try and make you feel bad. But you have the power to not let them do that to you.

Don't ever think anyone has power over you unless of course its your wife or girlfriend. Then you're pretty much screwed .

Do things because you want to do them or its the right thing to do. Don't let other people think you have to do them.

One time when I was little, I had gotten into some trouble at the daycare my sister and I went to for a couple hours every day after school (probably for fighting with my sister or the other kids lol). When my mom picked me up and brought me home, my mom and dad yelled at me and told me to go to my room. I responded, "No, you can't make me!"

At that point, my dad grabbed me and dragged me to my room.

People have as much power as 1) you give them, 2) they're entitled to, or 3) they take regardless. So your coach can kick you off the team if you don't listen to him, because he's the coach and he's entitled to that ability.

Edit: I'm pretty stoned, but did you notice the words grabbed and dragged are the same word with the d and g switched? So weird lol.

If you could convince yourself to train as hard as your coach makes you without his influence, what would be the point of a coach? Questioning his authority will hurt your game.

But yeah, power is something you can easily see past if you look.

Nobody has any power over you. Nobody. If a school teacher tells you to sit down, and you don't, they can't make you. Then if they told you to go to the office because of it, and you just decide to walk home, they can't make you go to the office. Nobody has control over you.

It sounds like you signed up to do it, so actually you don't need to be there at all. However if you want to play on that team you need to listen to the people above you. Same goes for alot of things in life like work, school, re-la-tion-ships haha ect. Think of it this way, if you want to play lacrosse then stick with it, your coach is actually there to help you improve.
