I have heard several times that they have marijuana bars in Canada similar to those in Amsterdam. Is there any truth in this? I'm going on vacation to Toronto in October. I've heard that the bars are in BC... other end from where I'll be.

I don't know about Toronto, but they exist in B.C., yes.

Bear in mind that the government in Canada has changed and the liberal view on marijuana isn't what it was even six months ago.

Yeah, a kid I know just got back from Canada (not sure exactly where) and said that in "pot shops", as he called them, they actually sold weed!

In Canada, weed is decriminalized, meaning you get a ticket for posession under 15 grams. That being said, it isn't legal. The "pot bars" you're talking about I believe are compassion clubs, places where you can buy/use medicinal marijuana. At least, I know the most popular cafe in BC, Da Kine, is.

Buahahaha I live in BC! Ive lived all over Vancouver island. I don't think ive actually ever seen any "pot shops" but alot of stores Ive been in sell things like, pot incense, pot flavoured stuff.. basically pot everything.
Actually, theres a place called Parksville here, they have a store called Stairway to Hemp.

and on 4:20, (at least last year) tonnes, and TONNES of people lit up right in front of victoria parliament buildings. I think it happens every year, and the cops supervise to make sure no one gets out of hand. I mean, they can't arrest 500 people.
