I am going to Vancouver this Saturday. I have a script for medical marijuana in the US. Needless to say I am not going to be travelling with my meds. I hear all kinds of stories about Vancouver. I am not sure if medical marijuana is legal in Canada? If it is how would I get my script filled? Any place to go? Also if you are from Vancouver, what should I go check out? Sites?.....

Well you cant get a script filled cause.....you dont have one You have a recommendation. Anywho, there laws arent ours and vise versa. For example, I have a license to sell guns in the US...doesnt mean I can hop over to sell guns in Canada.

Needless to say, Im sure you wont have a hard time finding your "meds" in Vansterdam.

Its written on a script pad, so not sure what to call it. And in Michigan, senior citizens take buses to Windsor to fill amercan scripts (its alot cheaper).

There are no medical marijuana laws in place in Michigan. Isnt it only like 2 city ordinances? So they wouldnt have a recommendation anyway? So they would really be going to CA just to buy cheap "meds".

You know more than me about MI law, so Im sur eyou can fill me in

And theres a few canadians here than could help you out with finding some cool spots to check out.

Hey, welcome to our humble city (well, I'm in Surrey but close enough).....

....If you're looking for a hike, and you're quasi-experienced, do the Grouse Grind .....shit it's closed for now apparently. Here's a link anyway in case they're open when you get here: Grouse Grind

Check out the Amsterdam Cafe on Hastings. Also there's a cool bookstore next to it - You can rent vapes and everything. This is on West Hastings, about 400 block.

Also, Science World (you'll notice a big giant ball in the city center) is hosting the BodyWorlds exhibit right now. Real bodies, preserved and posed for all of us to gawk at. Creepy but cool I'm sure.

Jdhammer, hows Victoria Island? We will have a rental car. Is there any mountain views? cool beaches? My wife will be in meetings all day, so I have to find something to keep me occupied during the day. I know very little about Vancouver. We go to Windsor a lot (better casinos than Detroit). Do you guys have any good casinos?

Most malor hotels have alot of people hanging around,I was in an elevator and just happened to say I'm going to go find some herb,this really cute chick says,wwhat kind you want I said the best of course,I gave her my room number and about 20 mins. later here she is with some killer pot,we smoked a couple of joints,then she asked where I was from and told her I needed the stash til I got home,no problem,she comes to the u.s. quite frequently,and I always look forward to seeing her,she's just so cool,she's asked me to come up and stay with her for a few days,I am going to take her up on it,she called me on my birthday blew me away I didnt even hear from some of my own family,but she remembered and took the time to call and say high,there are still some real people left in the world,well i am going on up sat the 24th and will report on my travels when I return. When you hit the 50 yr. mark time gets more interesting,you learn to stop and smell the skunk,and the pretty flowers,I just hope no one drops a house on me,(ha,ha) at any ratesee you all in a few days this should be killer.

King you going for a vacation to vancouver canada? Is there any snow skiing now in Vancouver canada? That would be no. I think I am packing all wrong. it looks like its going to be nice weather. My wife has me thinking its going to cold and rainy?

You must mean Victoria ON Vancouver Island. Vancouver is on the mainland. You'll need to take a ferry for about 1 1/2 hours to get back and forth. Coincidentally, I'm going to the island tomorrow to visit my sister!

Mountain views are plentiful here - If you're in Vancouver (not downtown, too many tall buildings), you're probably going to see mountains. If you're looking for some cool views, head up to North or West Vancouver (actually different cities, not the Western area of Van or Northern area of Van). There's an area called "The British Properties" in West Vancouver - Just get on the Number 1 (Upper Levels) highway and get off at any exit around 8-12 and head north up any hill. When you get up to the British Properties, there are some killer views of the city from way up high (no pun intnd).

Cool beaches? Any ocean beach here is pretty cool, and usually pretty busy. White Rock beach and Crescent beach are good spots, but are about 45 mins-1hr away from Vancouver. In North Vancouver, check out "Harbourside Drive" - There's a small nice strip of oceanside there which is nice, but there is a lot of crap in the water closeby (docks, ships, etc). My vote for a beach is White Pine beach, which is prob about 30 mins from Vancouver. From a quick lookup it's part of the "Belcarra" regional park site. White Pine beach

Best casino that I've been to around here is the River Rock Casino in Richmond, about 20 mins from most places in Van. River Rock Casino

If you ARE going to be in Victoria, just head to the city centre and walk around. I promise you that'll be a great experience in itself. Vancouver is good, but as far as visiting and "experiencing the city", Victoria is better, more historical too. They do have a kickass museum there if ur into that kind of stuff.

JD thanks for the info. Just packing now, not sure what its like. Looks like we are going to have a great week for weather. We arrive tomorrow at 4:20 (for real, to funny). So should we go to Vancouver Island on Sunday and not try to rush it on Saturday? What would be a cool bar to hit tomorrow (mello, not techno)? Or should we check out "pot block"?
