| That's cool. One of my friends in high school had an exchange student stay at her house and she turned out to be really cool. She didn't smoke though, but then again, neither did I at the time! Even if he doesn't smoke, or hasn't tried it yet, maybe you could turn him over to the dark side... ![]()

| Ooh nice! Ich war auch ein austausch-schuler (I was also a foreign exchange student). When I was in 10th grade I went to Germany for a month, learned so much! Although I didn't smoke at the time, my exchange student did and tried to get me to many times! We still keep in touch, so hopefully yours is cool! Good luck, ![]() |

| Aw I wish I lived with a roomate. I was in munich though this summer and those germans drink like nuts and so did I. They are really cool people, when I was in Rome on a pub crawl I met this Huge German with like your steriotypical german - english accent. He was a hilarious, really cool guy. |

| I dated a swedish exchange student in high school, we stayed penpals for years. She became an officer in the swedish navy. Lovely girl, I loved to hear her talk, she spoke absolutely perfect english. No accent what-so-ever. That was what was so odd, you never hear daily english speakers speak perfect english. She said something I think is kinda profound concidering today's world. I asked her what suprised her most about the US. She told me that after customs in New york, she never had to show any ID or papers to go anywhere, the family she stayed with took her all over the southwest, Grand Canyon, Lake tahoe, Yellowstone, and she said no one treated her any different and she never had to prove who she was. She told me "you Americans are the most trusting people in the world..." back then you could get an airplane ticket without ID, some states still had an 18 yr old drinking ages, cigarrette machines everywhere, a DUI usually ended up with a speech and a drive home from the cops if you didn't piss them off.
