Hi guys!

I used to post on here a bit a while ago, like a year or so maybe...anyway, I'm back!

Thing is, I'm in Ireland for the semester. No one here smokes and it's sad. Plus, I don't know if I'd smoke a lot if I could get it anyway, because if I'm caught even once I could get deported and kicked out of the program. No fun.

Anyway, this brings me to my next question. I'm taking a trip to Amsterdam at the end of October with a few of my guy friends from home (chillest people ever!). I've never been before, so does anyone have any tips or places I should see while there? Any and all suggestions welcome.

I'm also thinking of doing some other travelling in Europe (Scandinavia in particular) so if anyone could give me any advice about the weed scene anywhere else I'd appreciate it. Just if it's hard to get and what it's like and whatnot. Also just advice in general would be awesome.

(Also it kind of makes me sad that no one here understands the "chill lingo" from back home. I called something "sick!" the other day and got more than a few weird looks, haha!)

We've had a few other Ireland members, and I've heard nothing but good things. They say it's plentiful, esspecially hash. You're not far from Amsterdam either...

ive been to ireland for vacation and it seems like there would be an abundant supplly of mary jane there. its so green and lush; i can only imagine the quality is like there. and it probably is never dry there, im guessing.

From what I hear it's mostly hash here. Anyway, even if I could find it I don't think I'd smoke just because the possible consequences are pretty harsh and it'd make my paranoia even worse and I wouldn't enjoy it.

But now I'm thinking that as well as Amsterdam I'm gonna probably hit up somewhere in eastern Europe, like Prague or something. Anyone know what the scene is like out there? I know at least stuff will be cheaper there cause of the way the economy is. I guess right now I'm looking for more tips about Europe outside of Ireland, cause I don't plan on doing it while I'm here.

a buddy of mine spent a few weeks in ampsterdam. He said that they treat weed like alcohol. You can like walk into a smoking cafe and sit down and roll a joint, but the card you at the front. So if ur 18, your golden. Sometime they also have these awesome street fairs for weeds and you can pay a fee to be a judge of the best bud (you get a bracelet), and you go around trying everthing. Oh, and if you go to ampsterdam, you have to visit the Ann Frank house and act all sad. He said that city is really beautiful and incredibly safe. Oh, and from personal experience, hash is amazing. No paranioa whatsoever. Its like ten times as good as the best weed you could find state side. Seriously, try it. Hash come in a hard and brittle form (breaks into chunks, but its really hard so you need a knife to break it up) and soft hash, which is the finer of the two ( hash basically the consistency of clay). I think there is also liquid hash, but ive never seen it ( i think its like a black goo). Brittle hash is like the ditch weed of hash, but its still amazing compared to regular weed. Try it! Europe is great. switzerland is really chill and beautiful, but i dont know anything about the weed scene (was there when i was 8). Great hiking though. Italy is really amazing. I went to venice (8years old also) which was so beautiful (if not a little stinky) and my family might go to rome this summer, which i understand to be beautiful and really cool. France is alright, but not a must, and London is a ton of fun. like NYC but nuttier and prettier. Lotls of great clubs I hear. A little to the east, northern india is kind of a leap, but so incredible! Go to Ladakh ( northern most india, capital city, Leh). Its not liek the rest of india, which can be a little overwhelming to americans, but its completely bhuddist, and it has a kind of tibetan culture. The most beautiful place in the world, nestled in the himalayas. Worth the extra plane ride, but a trip in and of its own.

Hey totoro (great name by the way), if you're going to be in Italy and have time to take a daytrip, I highly suggest going to Pompeii. It's incredible! You can't help but be overwhelmed when you go by the history and tragedy and the simple goddamn beauty of it.

Funny you should mention India and Buddhism because I've been reading up a lot about Buddhism for a few months now. It's fascinating and so peaceful, I'd love to go somewhere with a more Buddhist feel to it like that. Only thing is, I think this Amsterdam trip might drain most of my monetary resources...hmm.

Serbia is also intriguing. I'd love to see that part of the world.

Well if nothing else I can always eat peanut butter and jelly for three years at home to save enough to come back to Europe! haha.

Ive been to amsterdam a couple times. Definately check out the Van Gogh museum, its rad when you are high. The sex shop is pretty amusing too, as well as the boat tours.
Make sure you have your ID on you. I left mine at the hostel and couldnt get into any of the shops until I went back and got it. Most of the shops I went to were really cool, I was too stoned really to remember the names

There is one, if you walk out of the station and go straight, on the other side of the river you will see one that has a porch like thing over the river, that was a good one. The rockery was also cool.

Stay at the flying pig hostel, the one in the city is nice in that you dont have to take a bus to get to the main area, but the one a little further away isn't bad either.

And the little shop in the island between 2 roads right outside the train station has the best falafels I've ever had. Good luck, let us know how it was!
