| I Need a G.e.D But also want to remain freely available for either a job or playing shows with a band or both. so i wasthinking that maybe online study would be best for me, any of u do this??? is there a cheap way of doing this??? is the g.e.d hard??? i have only a 5th grade math level (they wanted to let me "catch up" in 5th grade and gave me easy math and i dropped out in 10th grade in 2004 and have been doing my music full time since, but since they practicly jipped me in math, how long would i have to study math to know enough to pass g.e.d, mind u, i never learned pie. or even how to work a Ti-83... i just want my g.e.d so i can show people im serious about what im doing, even though im not gunna use it to go far in the corporate world or anything, i want to be a rockstar someday, and im not ashamed to say it, because none of you know me enough to say "You? Hahaha" but the bottom line is, thats what im here to do and im Going to do. but in order to do so, i need to make my cuase legit and show them im not just some cat with stars in his eyes and his head in the clouds, u kno??? i mean, if push comes to shove i can support myself somehow with jobs i wouldnt normally be able to get for as long as i need and A&R guys might be more willing to come open with me and work with me., i may look like less of a risk.

| I'm pretty sure that you have to at least have Algebra one under your belt. I'm not sure though. You would probably have to take a math refreshner, then a pre-algebra course, and then algebra one.

| I would wager that an understanding of trigonometry is needed for the test also. Go to your local bookstore (ie Barnes and Noble or Borders) and find some GED books in the Test Prep section. Try books by McGraw-Hills, Simon & Shuster, and Peterson's - they're usually excellent for test prep.

| As far as math goes, definately algebra, you'll need it for everything else that comes after that. There's also geometry and a bit of trig and a miniscule amount of calculus. As long as you're really serious about it and you work at it, you should be fine. Good luck man. ![]() |

| From what I heard obtaining a GED is pretty easy and if you want to take online classes you have to really motivate yourself because no one else will. |
