Just saw on the news that arrests for marijuana possession are up 50% in may areas of Canada (including my city) in 2006. They also briefly touched on how marijuana is not decriminilized in Canada.. the Liberal goverment began the process, but once that moron Conservative Harper came to office he got rid of it.
Apparently Canada smokes 4 times more than the rest of the world (the world average).
Anyone have any thoughts on this issue?

I know the cops in Alberta sure aren't slack about possession..
I never knew we smoked that much compared to everyone else though, that's awesome.

Hopefully more and more people will smoke until we get to a point where it's impossible to bust everyone. Hello legalization!

I believe it! Friggin everyone smokes around here... way more commonplace than smoking cigarettes, for one. On my campus, we're far more frightened of the campus police than the normal police, because where the CamPo have the power to get us expelled, rumour has it that all the cops will do it confiscate what you have (as long as its not a lot...)
But for god's sake, legalize it! I don't worry about the weed, I worry about the friggin crystal meth that has been known to get mixed in around here. Thank god I have a trustworthy dealer who refuses to sell weed that has been spiked. (he samples everything before he sells it :P)

well im from richmond hill (20minutes north of toronto) but i just moved to Oshawa (booo) lmfao anyway, when i lived in richmond hill, me my buddy avery, and one other guy i jus met that night, got bookd...it was terrible, they were looking for ppl who were breaking into cars n stealing things...and we jus happnd to be in the area but we werent carrying no thing...anywya long story short...they couldnt arrest us for stealing things outta cars cuz WE WERENT but we were high as fuck, and seeing how they came at us with a k9, im assuming they knew anyway..long story short, they eventually searched us and found sum weed.....it was a nice over nighter...but was stupid if u think about it... cops couldnt bust us for sumpn we didnt do, but since we were there they may have well arrested us for sumpn...cops will do anything now a days, thing is... 90% of em blaze, so im pretty sure they smoked w/e weed they confiscated from us

It's the stupid hypocritical laws.. marijuana is so much less harmful than alcohol, yet alcohol is legal and marijuana isn't. it's so fucked up, and people can be so ignorant. damn Harper government.
