Vicki, I have got to toss you mad props. Glad to hear the kitten is doing well, good job! :trophy:

Some might see me as a ruthless and heartless bastard, but, I would of killed it myself. I've felt some pain in my life to know that extreme pain ain't nothing any creature should feel. I would of put it out of its misery, I would think it hasn't lived that long to be worth a rescue. I'm already in a bad financial situation, vet bills would be the least of my worries (I read this and I feel like an ass, but that's the way I feel).

Bravo on saving it

(BTW I haven't seen your pictures, I was logged out and it didn't display them so I didn't click them.. I'm assuming this thing was in REALLY REALLY bad shape, about to keel over).

Deeter is doing much better. She is moving the front injured paw more, so we am hopeful. I'll get some current pics of her up soon because she looks, and is acting much better.

It's so good your helping the kitten. I can't give you any money but I hope it all works out well. Me and my brother helped a kitten that was sick and then let it go again but you look like your guna have to help that one out for a good while. I hope it all works out well.

Great to hear she's doing better! I'm so glad that she's moving that front paw.. I'm always so sad when I see an animal with an amputated leg. Sure, they usually adjust to it, but it's not like they can run and play like most other animals. I'm sure it sucks just as much for an animal to have an amputated limb as it does for a person...

And can I trust more Deeter photos will be coming? It'll be great to see her when she's healthier...

Deeter is sitting here in my lap purring, watching me type this. Her favorite place is my lap now, and screams at me if I put her down for very long, unless she falls asleep.

She just had her 2nd meal, and is playing with my necklace.

I am going to try and get new pictures of her later today. I have to get up at least once in the middle of the night to feed her and I'm so exhausted. I feel like a walking zombie.

But, I don't care, as long as Deeter is ok.

Thank you everyone for all your well wishes. We really appreciate it, and so does Deeter!

Tonight was her bandage/splint change night, so I wanted to wait until she had a new one on before I took pics. I also noticed her wound didn't smell very good, so I am calling the Vet first thing in the morning. I know I've done everything right, but I am still worried. I really want to save this leg. I wish there were a way they could put it back together with a metal pin, and just close the wound.

My biggest concern is the amount of time she would need to be under anesthetic at her young age.

Other than that, she really is doing a lot better. The Clavamox is helping her respiratory infection. She isn't sneezing very much now, but she has another week on the Clavamox.

She is using the injured/limp front paw more and more everyday. I don't know how much movement she can get back, but I am not even going to consider amputation until some time has passed.

I'll give another update when we get back from the Vet tomorrow.

It's nice to hear she's getting better. I hope that leg is ok. Maybe they can put some antibiotics or something in it; maybe infection?
I sure hope not. Give her lots and lots of love!!!!!
