| Well, today, we decided to do something different again. So this time we took The Boy to the old sand mines that are in this area. They are really old, and it is in the mountain side that is of sandstone. You can't go very deep into them, as they blocked off the entrances with sand. I would imagine sand stone can become pretty unstable pretty quick. Anyway, I thought I would show some pics...this place was awesome. Just the sheer size of it. And you can tell by the blue sky...what a beautiful day it is today. Temps around 75. Awesome Here is the mountain side it is cut into ![]() This is DW walking into the entrance of the mine. The trees kind of cover it up... ![]() Size reference ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I think someone needs to go in with a pick and hammer and pick all the graffiti off the walls. It is a shame to see all the mess that is written on the walls in those mines. Would be a great camping spot too ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
