My friend smoked for the first time recently. He didn't get high, and he somked more than enough to get you high, but nothing major. This was the same for me and 3 other friends smoked for our first time.

THE HOLE REASON you don't get high when you first smoke pot is becuase you don't know how. You take a wimpy where you usually don't breath in right through the pipe or whhatever your using and you don't inhale or your just scared and don't want to inhale..

I didn't get high my first time either .. been getting high ever since then though Just give it another try and it will come. Remember to inhale deep, hold for five seconds and you should be good.

i think its also partly because when people first smoke pot, their body has to identify and adjust to the new chemical (THC obviously), so instead of enjoying the high, their body is working to identify the new bonding taking place inside their system.

but i agree with pkster and kronic in the fact that they don't know how. idk why, it sure as hell was easier my first time smoking pot than it was my first time smoking cigs.

I can agree with that! I remember waking up late for school and chain-puffing a cig before the bus rolled up. Haha, I got so lightheaded I could barely make it to the back of the bus. I had to use the other seats to balance xD

Next time you and your friends smoke, try a blunt, and 2 of you need to master shotgun blowing. As long as they partially inhale, there's going to be a buttload of smoke in their lungs. Then again, make sure you do it outside... I've seen one too many JP's puke from accidently swallowing smoke

Not inhaling right isn't the sure-all-be-all reason that people don't get high. I do think on most cases that it does have something to do with it.

Tell them how to inhale and just keep on trying.

The first time I actually smoked more than 2-3 hits I got so amazingly fucking blown away...indescribable. Spent the entire class after lunch asleep.

well their probably right about not knowing how to inhale properly and maybe ur friend has a naturaly high tolerance i know people who have a naturaly high and low tolerance since the day they startd so some people are like that

Oh I'm a fucking pro, I was referring to when I first started smoking weed, but yeah my friend who recently smoked actually got some good hits, they were inhaled, I could tell.

The first time I blazed, it took me a week of smoking 3-4 bowls a day to finaly get baked. For the first couple days, I definatly didn't inhale right, but after I was inhaling correctly and still not getting baked. Finaly, one day, friday, after about 15 minutes, BAM! ooo god I was soo messed up. God, I miss those days. For a good 2 months all my highs were amazing. Then slowly my tolerence caught up to me, and I have yet to take a tolerence break.
