So, yesterday was the first time I've personally bought weed. I usually just chip on with friends. I was walking around hippy hill (this huge grassy area about a block from a SFPD office but basically is full of stoners and sellers and the cops seem not to give a shit) and I pass by this who asks me if i'm looking for some weed. After asking him what he was I ask the price. He offers me a 1/4th of an ounce for $100. Ihad no idea if it was a good price so I asked him so show me an eighth, he pulls out a sandwich bag with about 6 mid sized nuggets and says its $50, I told him gimme half of the bag and I'll pay $20. I smoked half of it in what was left of half a hollowed out black and mild and it got me fairly high. Was he trying to rip me off when he asked $100 for 1/4? I rather smoke blunts then from a pipe, so how many blunts should 1/4 get me on average?

Well, some Marijuana goes for $100 dollars per 1/4, but you said it was an eighth higher up in the post - so which is it, and how much did you pay?

100 for 1/8 is a rip off, I haven't encountered any marijuana that goes for 800 bucks an ounce. 400 dollars an ounce is possible.

It sounds like you got ripped off, but the only way to know for sure is if you know the price of the Marijuana in your area, and the quality at that price.

sounds like he got a half an 8th 4 20 dallors maybe. if it was dank then ur straight and he didnt rip u off. as for how many blunts a 1/4 brings u depends on how fat ur blunts r. i usually get 2 r 3. but i smoke fat blunts. but u can get up to 6 r 7 easily.

1.7 for 20 is not a bad deal at all, actually, thats exactly what I picked up no more than 10 minutes ago.

Edit: about the blunts.. a 1/4 ounce is 7 grams. If you roll gram blunts, you will get 7 blunts. If you roll 2-ish gram blunts, you will get about 3. You can do the math from there.

Wow - it's been a while since I've bought... and maybe prices are different in your area than mine, but 1.7 for 20? Really?

I pay like... 5 dollars a gram (at most) for mids, and 7 dollars a gram for dank...

Sorry, I typed it while I was smoking it lol. What happened was he wanted $100 for 1/4th but I didn't want to pay $100 since I didn't know how good it'd end up being or if the price was right. Then he showed me an 8th in a baggy and wanted $50 for the 8th. I told him I'd give him $20 for half of it and he took it. So i ended up paying $20 for half of an eighth (from what i've been seeing, should be about 1.7grams. When I was breaking it up it was pretty sticky. I smoked half of what I had (a little under a gram) and got pretty high off of it so if the price is worth it, I'm probably gonna pick up 1/4 from the guy next time.

Whole reason i wasn't sure if I was getting ripped off was because when I was in philly visiting a friend, he went to buy up and got an ounce for $100 and it was pretty good so I had no clue.

If it was mids you got ripped off, if it was good stuff, then it was a good deal. Since you probably dont know much about weed the question to ask your self is Did it have seeds? if the answer is no then you most likely got a decent deal. If it had seeds, then you did get ripped off but not by more than a few grams or so

Wow! I'd be so damn high if I could get it for that. I'm in eastern Canada, good stuff up here. It's pretty much always the same quality (upper mids) and goes pretty much dollar-point until you get into larger ammounts than quarters. I can get an Oz for 210, again upper mids.
But thats great, dank for 7 bucks a gram.

I'm close to 100% sure that I didn't come across any seeds (unless I came across em and didn't even notice). If I was ripped off, there were at least 10 more people within 100 feet that were looking to sell me weed so it's all good. I'll probably just buy 1/4 from him next time or ask around to see if someone is selling 1/4 for cheaper.

The most important thing is that you don't let him know that you're a JP (junior pothead, common lingo around here). So whenever you go to get this quarter, you can use your eyes to tell if it's the correct weight, or at least in the general area. An eighth should fill the bottom of a sandwich bag, and it sounds like you're not getting shake, so it'll probably be about 1-1/2-2 centimeters? Then just apply that x2 to determine if your quarter is beat or not

Edit: Oh, and since you're a rookie, I wouldn't really bother with nugs. Pretty much anything that IS weed will get you stoned for a while. Most people don't believe in tolerance, but if I tried to face 2 blunts when I first started, I'd be on another dimension. Whereas now, it's the minimum I require
