Hey guys

About 3 weeks ago my mom raided my room and found my pipe, zig-zags, my cigarette chillum, my rolling machine, some shake etc. It was a rough night but basically all that came out of it was me losing my car for 2 months (shitty) and I lost some trust. Technically my car was supposed to be sold because that's the deal they made with me after they caught me the first time (they just found my bubbler).

The pipe they took was like a week old and was the coolest pipe I've ever seen (spendy too) and I've talked to my mom about returning it to me a couple of times. She said she would talk to my dad but it's been a couple weeks and she hasn't said anything. I got the feeling she didn't want to give me back the pipe since I broke their rules by bringing it to the house in the first place, but they're pretty reasonable so I asked if I could take it to my friend's house who has his medical card.

Should I try and get the pipe back again (I'm not sure if it's been thrown away yet or not) or just leave it alone since the situation has kind of blown over?

First and foremost, no matter what, like you said you broke the rules. This is their house and if they don't like or want you smoking then you need to be respectful of that.

Second, I wouldn't push the "pipe issue". In fact, I wouldn't even make it about the pipe.
Since this is your second time getting busted by your parents, that really doesn't help you at all.

My only thought would be to sit down with them and discuss it. (which i'm sure has probably happened already) Talk to them about why you smoke and what you think about it and have them do the same. At least open a bridge of discussion up, not for letting you smoke or getting a pipe back, but to communicate with your parents. It could help build some of that trust up again and show them a more responsible side...

This might sound a bit cheesy and I chuckle that I now understand it, but your parents are only looking out for you. They want what's best for you and for you to make the right choices in being a responsible person.

I've definitely been through the open talks about pot and they've accepted that I smoke and don't forbid me to do so, I just can't have any paraphernalia or pot on the property.

The only reason the pipe is even an issue is because it was new and awesome and if I got it back it wouldn't be in our house anymore.

All and all if I lose a pipe out of this then it's whatever. My parents consider me a responsible kid, I do well in school, help around the house, have a job etc.

Just kinda sucks to be out a piece again.

Kaythree, my advice; Drop the pipe issue all together.

Stick to smoking joints until you can either convince them to let you keep a single pipe in the house (Tell them it's glass, for health - and it's economical, 1 pipe versus buying papers all the time... ) or until you move out. Chances are, you're never going to get your pipe back. Either they've scrapped it, or are planning to give it back to you at a later date. At this point, their minds are probably made up.

They wouldn't let me keep a pipe in the house no matter what. I think I'll heed your (and broilette's) advice and not bring up the pipe again. I don't really want to only smoke joints because they go through weed a lot quicker than if I were to smoke bowls and I usually buy 1/8s or dubs so I like to conserve. I think I'll switch it up between joints and homemade pieces.

Anyway thanks for the advice guys it's always appreciated.

If I were you, I'd just ask her not to throw it away and ask if you can get it back when you turn 18. I don't see why she would say no
