so i pulled some dope, then my dad saw me so i dropeed it and went and got it later (long story) when i went back and it had rained and got kinda dirty, any ideas as to what i should do? like do ya wash it? cuz i dont want to hurt it

Try to brush it all off. If you can't get all of it, try getting it off with a damp towel.

It shouldn't be a problem if you have to run it through water, as long as you dry it out well. There are tons of threads on here about drying weed, just use the search, if it comes to that.

Well if the buds got mud on them I would use them to make hash. Let the mud dry and get as much as you can off the buds then chop them up real well and throw them into a jar with some 99% ispropyl alcohol(rubbing alcohol). Shake the jar madly for 2 minutes exactly. Pour the liquid onto a plate straining out the plant material & dirt and let it evaporate. Scrape and smoke. Mmmmm...hash.

Thats just me. I like hash. I don't like smoking dirt.

You can rinse it gently in a bowl of cool water. Don't put it under the faucet or agitate it. That will dislodge the trichomes, which contain the bulk of the THC. After rinsing it, you must dry it slowly and carefully. Marijuana containing more than 15% water by weight will promote the growth of mold.

To dry it, put it on a screen and keep it in a dark, well-ventilated space. You want the air to flow all around it, but don't put a fan directly on it. Light will cause the THC in the weed to deteriorate more quickly.

That's the first place I've seen 99% isopropyl alcohol. I wonder what makes it worth almost $9 a pint, delivered? I can buy a quart of 91% isopropyl for $1.24 and it seems to do the job quite well. It just takes a little longer to evaporate.

If you do this alcohol extraction, it's a good thing to pour the liquid over some activated carbon and let it soak for a few hours (stirring occasionally) before allowing the alcohol to evaporate. The carbon absorbs most of the stuff that will otherwise make it harsh to smoke. The liquid changes color from dark green to almost clear. Be sure to thoroughly rinse the activated carbon with cold water before using it to clear the extract. Carbon dust won't hurt you but it makes the final product look ugly.
