hey all, just read that big long post about those herbs. or was it an advert?

i have seen websites selling "legal buds" and have never bought the stuff and probably never would. imo if you wanna get high, you should buy weed!

Although rick made some really good points about quitting smoking tobacco and stuff, i have a few issues with the way they go about selling their products.

My problem with those sites is that although they never actually say "this will get you high", i guess a lot of people would buy the stuff thinking theres a chance it will. especially when they tell you stuff like not to drive after smoking it. Why would they tell you not to drive? that alone misleads people into thinking there'd be some high from the smoke

one site says it is "potent" and that it impresses "even the most experienced smoker". What is that supposed to mean exactly? to me, a potent smoke is one that gets you really high. and i know for a fact most tokers would agree. What do they mean by potent? they sure dont explain it very well.

And if anyone is as boring as me and read the tiny disclaimer on one site, they would see that they claim their buds arent intended to be a weed substitute, but they name them things like dutch haze/blueberry etc all very misleading. and it kinda looks like the real thing, in their photos at least.

looks to me like theyre taking advantage of illegality of weed, cos you cant go crying to the advertising standards agency (or whoever) that your legal buds didnt get you high! no matter which way you look at it, its pretty misleading.

anyhoo, rant over! think im off for a spliff. a real one

People buy Legal Buds and sell it off as weed.

Someone I know bought an ounce and sold it off as $30 eighths.
Legal buds are a money making scam. They use phrases and words to entice the stoner, and make them buy it, then there's no point. THese "herbs" don't have any special effect, or even relax your nerves like tobacco will. The ONLY point to them is for a corporation to make money from curious potheads. It's bullshit that High Times accepts money and posts ads from a fraudulent company like that.

Tobacco doesn't relax your nerves. It's a stimulant. The only relaxing effect it has is to give you the nicotine fix you need once you're addicted, and possibly the deep breathing if you're taking big drags. 'A relaxing cigarette' is a myth put out by tobacco advertisers.

Yep. It's called "advertising". Did you know if you buy Axe Body spray any woman you walk by will jump your bones? They just won't be able to help themselves. It has to be true...I saw it in an advertisement.
