She's got that "oh wow...you smoke pot? You're going to be stupid and lazy for the rest of your life now" attitude and it sucks because she's all about some other certain off topic activities that rhyme with "shrinking" which honestly makes her do much stupider things than I'll ever do while high. But she's a good friend and since I ventured off into the world of mary jane without her, any words on how to, if not convert her () then at least enlighten her a bit? Thanks

Every time she says something about pot to you, just say the same thing back but replace pot with booze.

Also just prove her wrong, get good grades and whatnot. If you get better grades than she does then you can use that.

People are different and choose to do different things. I wouldn't try to push it on her. That could just push her away all together. I would educate her on marijuana and show her that all people that smoke mj do not get lazy. As a matter of fact some people it does the opposite.

I'd just talk to her about it. Like: "have you ever smoked?" (sounds like the answer is probably no) "then how can you judge it?". Just tell her if she wants to give an honest opinion on it your there for her to try it out (don't push it on her though), and if not then she shouldn't bad mouth you.

The easiest way I've found to shut people up is to simply prove them wrong. Not with studies, websiters, etc.....but rather with your OWN behavior. I got the "stupid stoner" comments a lot in high school.....and proceeded to graduated 3rd in my class. All the studies, reports, etc may build a foundation for the person, but the only way to truely convince her its not going to happen is to prove it with your own actions. It may not result in an instant change, but sooner or later, it should sink in.

I'd go with this, before I smoked I never really knew what it did, I heard all the rumors about it making you lazy and kills your motivation and such but never hung out with my friends when they were all stoned so I wasnt sure, after a couple of years they just said, hey justin, we need to get you stoned, I just said yeah yeah, I might try it to see what its like, educational purposes, yah know. But I tried it a couple of weeks later and alot of things I thought about it (I had a fairly positive attitude to it already to though so it may be diffrent) turned out to be wrong ( I used to think you just completly lost control and blacked out or something, lol)

haha i used to be that girl. then i got this massive crush on a stoner - and he was smart as hell and really funny and he smoked a lot and i saw there was nothing wrong with him. never had the gall to do it for like a year after (he never pushed me about it) and now i blaze every weekend. its possible to convert. now whenever someone tells me it makes you lazy and stupid i tell them it doesnt make you lazy, it gets your priorities straight. plus i got a 1450 on my SATs bitch!

I have a different way of dealing with people like that. Personally I'd get a camcorder or a cell phone that captures video and record a few minutes of her behavior next time she's been "shrinking" too much.

Next time she feels it's necessary to belittle you, just show her the video.
