I've been driving in the City for many, many years, building stores downtown and homes in the environs and it's one of the easiest cities in the U.S in that regard. No worries my friend. Give me a holler. I give driving lessons at 5:00 ea weekday afternoon for those in need... ![]()

| I lived in Sacramento for about three years. I had to travel to San Francisco on a regular basis for business. We had quite a few customers in downtown SF. Don't get me wrong. I think SF is a great city. It's like no other city in the US. Traffic just sucks major balls. The only place I've ever driven that has worse traffic is Chicago. Any place that has three major freeways (one of which is at half capacity due to earthquake damage!) merge together, funnel through a tollbooth and then onto a dilapidated bridge has some sucky traffic. It's simply unavoidable.

| I've driven around the city. You've got extreme hills, narrow roads and and millions of people on them. It makes for sucky traffic, IMHO. ![]() |

| I live in the Mission District. Titty, you should not miss getting a burritto from a Mission district taqueria. I like Taqueria San Francisco on 24th st. at York, but there are plenty of other good ones around. I'm sure your friend knows. re: driving. You just have to know which routes to take in the City. It's true that a 5-7 mile trip across the city could take you up to 30mins to drive, with all the stop signs and traffic. And you definitely want to avoid the fianancial district at rush hour. Parking in North Beach on a weekend night is simply ridiculous. Other than that, it's generally pretty easy, and low key driving as cities go. I've been here for 15 years. Before that, L.A., Chicago, Milwaukee, and St. Louis. SF beats LA and Chicago driving by a mile, as long as you don't have to commute into the city over the Bay Bridge at rush hour. That's what BART is for... Sterbo, where do you stay? Last edited by green medicine : 11-01-2007 at 05:34 PM. |

| THANK GOD I LIVE IN SAN FRANCISCO =] hearing from all you stoners that its such a great place to live and come to think of it..it really is. Many of the tourist go to the golden gate bridge, Pier 39 area, downtown/chinatown area. Those area area really cool to check out, but sometimes the traffic/parking and crowded places are too much to handle. Other cool places to check out are Haight an Ashbury streets, where all the hippies are and people just smoke in the streets(ive done it before), twin peaks its really nice at night and a cool place to smoke and chill(you can see most of the city from there), and there are many other places that i cant think of right now but ..YES OF COURSE the burrito place on Mission (el furrito) is worth dying for(get a wet burriot) yummmmm |
