Got an ounce after not smoking for about 4 weeks. I gained immunity to it after about 3-4 days, that is, I kept getting high so frequently (whenever I started to feel too much "going down" on the high) that getting high lost its great potentcy. In just three weeks tonight I will smoked that entire ounce. This is my first "ounce" to go through that wasn't fake weed (see topic history, arg) and its interesting to see I could go through an ounce that quickly. The weed had some "shwagg" and "dank" mixed together, and I know I got a pretty shitty count. Probably around 20 grams or something, I don't know my new scale could be shit. I'm going to run out in about 2 highs. That might be tonight (technically this morning) or tomorrow. Now it takes me from completely not high (just moderately-heavily stoned) 3 as full as I can fill them bowls on my bong to get "high" where I actually feel somewhat what I used to feel like. I guess I been under the influence of weed for 3 weeks straight now. Done absolutely nothing but smoked weed for 3 weeks. I got enough money to keep doing it a few months, but I'm not going to do that. Going to try to get my shit together...not get another ounce tomorrow's my goal. Hmmm am I on the right site? har har... Okay, so should I expect any withdrawal effects from having beeen high for 3 weeks to completely not high? Like should I take my xanax starting tomorrow? Calm myself down? Or take stimulants like coffee to keep me "up"...? I know weed isn't "physically addictive" but it sure as f**k is psychologically addictive, or I wouldn't have even gotten this ounce.

| Weed is nonaddictive, so you shouldn't have any real withdrawl symptoms. I often go "cold turkey" after smoking multiple times a day for months. The most severe withdrawls I've EVER faced were some lack of appitite, insomnia, and some irritability. Certainly nothing worth medicating yourself over...be a man and tough it out. Its NOT that bad. Also, if you think you have a "psychological addiction" to MJ, maybe its TIME for a break. I love marijuana, but wouldn't consider myself "addicted". Like I said, I can quit cold turkey whenever, usually without ANY withdrawl. If you find yourself becomiong dependant on ANYTHING, it might be time to reevaluate how you are using the substance.

One thing I've found that really just runs you down is when you smoke more before you are completely down. Typically I smoke, get high and then on the way down I get this burnt out feeling, like a cloudy mental feeling but I don't feel high, and it makes me want to smoke more. What happens when I smoke more is that I don't feel the high nearly as intensely. Give yourself a little downtime between highs. You shouldn't feel withdrawal and I don't know what you are self-medicating for, and that is your own business but if you can I think it would be beneficial to give yourself a "recovery" period in between smokes.

You shouldnt expect too many side effects of not smoking. For a night or 2 it might be hard to go to sleep and you might not feel like doing anything for a day or 2 also. I smoked an ounce a week for nearly a year, and when i quit (busted) it was just hard for me to fall asleep and got annoyed at little stuff for a few days, but nothing major.

If you read my(if its not addictive/withrdrawl) thread you 'll see im having the same problems but the truth is the first 3 or 4 days I wanted to kill somebody for absolutley nothing but im goin on day 8 today and it seems to be getting easier to deal with.I had that same burnt out,not as high scenario and I think the others are right. Its time for a break,no one is making me quit but if I can get a job and lower my tolerance at the same time its actually quite beneficial for me.Why keep smoking if im only gonna be high for an hour or smoke large quanities to be high longer.Depending on your personality pot CAN be mentally addictive because regardless of what anyone says, they are NOT in YOUR head when you arent smoking.Ive actually been eating less but I cant sleep untill sometime between 2am and 5am but its not the worst thing in the world.Id rather chill for a bit than start burning through mass quanities of pot or start looking for other things like alcohol to relax my crazy brain. It'll be okay for all of us in the end ![]() ![]()

If you stop smoking weed after months/years of getting high everyday, you are bound to feel some effects. When I stopped for a week after months of everyday smoking, I found it hard to sleep/eat. It doesn't mean it's addictive, and I wouldn't call these "withdrawal symptoms". It's like yogurt.. if you eat yogurt everyday for months, and then suddenly you stop, your body is going to feel different since it was used to getting it everyday. It doesn't mean you're addicted.

Well I'm going through hell. I have ADHD, OCD, Tourettes, Major Depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder, and several personality disorders. They took me off SSRI, but me on Bupropion. The SSRI killed my sex drive (literally haven't felt the need to orgasm in about 3 weeks now, a naked chick in front of me would do literally nothing for me) They put me on methylphenidate for my ADHD again (generic "ritalin") and the stimulation I get from this is driving me insane! My tourette motor tics and verbal tics are off the charts. I'm extremely irritable. But the cravings for weed seem to be dying each day as the THC leaves my system. I think a chronic user shouldn't expect all the THC to clear the system for about 30 days. They give me Xanax to sleep. The ritalin seems to help my impulse control 1000% (except for Tourettes related stuff) and I'm able to focus on just 1 thing instead of 5 now. However, it's not helping my inattentiveness, distractibility, or patience, as it used to, and I'm sure this is the psychological withdrawal from that ... beautiful plant... ARGH! Anyway, marijuana is so addicting for ADHD people because it does the same thing stimulants CAN do for us, namely, calm our racing chipmunk minds and allowed me to hyperfocus more. I love that. So far of course the methylphenidate is taking that away from me, but allowing me to concentrate on ANYTHING better. Just trying to get through a couple weeks without weed.

Yes, anything is addictive if you let it be.

Okay, this is strange, I just took another pill overlapping the other one by about 30 minutes to an hour. I think I need a stronger dose, because now I feel great! This is the way I remember ritalin working for me before. I feel extremely contented and calm, very concentrated on whatever I'm doing, no impulsive feelings or anger, just a little sadness sometimes. And for the first time in years I'm actually looking forward to my future with good expectations! I think when I go in to see my psychiatrist on wed I will tell him I simply need another dose to keep the "rebound" effect from happening.
