Hey guys, check it out.

I bought a bag of weed 2-3 weeks ago. It was a quarter of mid-grade weed. When I got it, I was alerted by its smell. It had an unnatural... "minty" smell. The weed was highly compressed too; obviously from a brick.
Anyways, I've been smoking it and the high never felt right, but I hadn't smoked in a long time so I really didn't have a point of reference.
But today, I bought another quarter, but this time it was much greener and pine-y smelling. When I smoked this pot, the high was MUCH different and not only that, it reminded me of the times I got high before So I was sure this was unadulterated weed.

I want to find out about my first bag though. I still have a nickbag's worth left. Is there any way I can find out if its been tampered with? Is there anything I can do?

I want to find out because I get this minty smelling weed sometimes, and it's always the same. I'm sure alot of other people do too because, if it comes in bricks, it must be coming in a lot.

Different strains of weed smell differently and produce different highs. For example a sativa high is more "in your head" while an indica high is more likely to keep your ass rooted to the sofa.

If you take it to any lab for testing, you're going to either get reported to law enforcement or have someone who wants the weed take it from you.

I've read at least three times this week about people getting weed that overwhelmingly tastes/smells like mint. It seems to be a huge growing trend.

As Darque said, don't take it to a lab for testing. Do some reading up on it, so you can find the answers if you want to.. but don't take it to a lab.

If it were me, I would personally not even worry about it. You only have a very small amount left. Either smoke it, or throw it away. Now that you know you don't like it, don't buy this weed next time if someone tries to sell it to you again. Weed's not that hard to find, and you can always go somewhere else, or hold off until your regular dealer gets different stuff.

the weed is probably just different kinds,


im guessing the first weed you got was not very high quality,which is why you probably did'nt get very stoned,what did the first weed look like?was it brown?

Yeah, I've noticed minty weed. I've smelt and smoked some that smells REALLY minty, but still gets your very ripped. And I've had some that has an undertone of minty-ness. And it's still decent weed, for what I paid for it. No idea where the smell comes from, it could be a byproduct of how it was grown, could be a strain that just smells minty... I've heard of weed being wrapped up in those fabric softener sheets for transport to remove the smell... Any possibility anyone (it would have to be on a large scale, cause everyone keeps complaining about this minty weed 'problem') could have been putting the weed in/around something minty to cover the smell?

I found Street Drug Analysis, but I agree with the others that it's not worth the effort. If you don't like this weed and someone tries to sell you some again, just don't buy it.

Yeah seriously. You'll probably just get in trouble if you try to bring it somewhere to a lab, and really, what's the point? You know there's something "off" about it, so just try to avoid it in the future. It's probably nothing to worry about, but you never know.

One of the inherent problems of buying an illicit substance (not limited to weed) is that there are no standards to regulate purity. In the case of weed, contaminants can make it taste like crap or harshen the high. (One time I had some herb that had been stashed for transport in a gasoline canister...it smelled and tasted like crap and didn't do anything) With other substances, adulterants can cause serious and potentially fatal health issues. This is an often-ignored problem caused by the war on drugs. If the government were controlling and regulating marijuana and other substances, purity and safety would be a non-issue.

i got a half oz a few days ago of lower end decent pot, my buddie said he tasted a minty taste and i do too and ive noticed that when i smoke the more leafier buds it kinda flares up on me... verry weird and i know there isnt anything in it cause i smoke way too much weed to have something it might be laced with sneak up on me, and not to meantion i bought the half off of a buddy ive known since 8th grade.. im now almost 21 sooo im not too sure wats up with this bud... im not dissapointed it gets me where i want to be... i just wanted to add my encounter with possibly the same minty weed everyone else is meantioning (wich i doubt)

anyone else in the pacific northwest get the so-called minty weed ?
