Surviving WWI: Veterans' stories
Ahead of Remembrance Sunday, Britain's surviving World War I veterans talked to Charles Wheeler for the BBC's Ten O'Clock News about their memories of the conflict.

I saw this on my homepage, and thought it was worth a look, no matter where you're from. All of us owe these men something, they fought to defend their country and way of life, and without them - the world wouldn't be the same place.

Thank you Trocisp that was a good read, finishing it up now. I hadn't even realized today was Veterans day until I woke up this evening and looked at my calendar.

I have recently gained a new found respect for our Elders after volunteering at a local nursing home. I am actually contemplating nursing as a career choice. Our senior citizens are living history and a lot of people don't realize that, they have lived through wars, through the depression, through heartbreak and hardship only to often be overshadowed by the generations of now. History books only have a 2 dimensional story contained in flat pages, our elders can convey history through memories and emotions through the superlative human element. Thanks again Trocisp.
