| Ok, so I had some fresh weed off my brother's plants and my buddy suggested to put it in the oven for a bit, to dry it up. We did this for about 5-10 minutes max, at around 150 degrees. I smoked some after that and it got me high, but it kinda tasted like shit. Did I ruin my weed by putting it in my oven? ![]() ![]() |

| Damn damn damn damn. I feel like such an idiot now... He did say that he would bring me more at the family get together at Christmas, but still... lol. Anything I can do to make it taste better? If I smoked it through my bong as opposed to a joint would it taste better? |

| Quick-dried weed tastes like crap. Period. It needs to dry slowly, over a week or so, to taste decent. It needs to be cured over a couple of weeks or more to taste really good. That's what they say over at our sister site, Gardenscure.com. [EDIT]Quick-dried weed is also much less potent than the same weed dried and cured properly. As the water slowly evaporates, the acid form of THC converts to the neutral form, which is what you want.

| buzzbys right, it needs to be cured to taste nice, as far as saving it you could try putting some iceburg lettice or celery in the bag with it to rehydrate it then put it in the freezer or fridge over night, this may help but if it wasnt cured right than it will never taste like it could have |

| yea, thats a hard lesson to learn like that.. Reminds me of when I tried to cook the first few times and ended up burning my weed, and had brown/black bud butter that did barely anything.. My best suggestion is to allways ask or look around here to see the best way to do things involving marijuana... |

| No! It is not ruined! I read somewhere the process is called decarboxilation (but I got a D in chem so what do i know? :-P). It speeds up the drying process and puts out a little more THC so smoking it will get yo higher. However, the taste will all be dead. You will notice when you open the oven after baking it like that the wonderful smell all rushing out at once. What you can do with your tasteless weed is bake it. Here's a firecrackers recipe which I got from I think shroomery.com posted by kidbotany and modded by myself which is in my honest, humble, and tested opinion, the best way to eat weed. I've tried these and they are insane, one cracker will get me high as hell and it lasts a lot longer than a smoked high. It's a great experience to try, and you can put that burnt weed to good use. Bake the weed open on AlFoil at 270 for 10-15 minutes. Then mix it in peanut butter (make sure its NOT low-fat, should be around 25% of daily fat per serving) and the weed/PB concentration is up to you. Out of a half Oz once I made enough for 16 firecrackers. Take graham crackers and split them into four, put some PB and make a sandwich. Then wrap them up in AlFoil individually, and bake em at 320 for 15 minutes. Let them cool and enjoy. They might taste a bit nasty the first time you make them, they get better with experience. The high will hit you right after you give up on it, yeah, it's sneaky like that and you'll be ripped before you realize it. Just leave them in the foil and they don't need to be refrigerated. I've had them last a month no problem under my bed or in my party bag. I read somewhere a guy forgot about one for 3 months and it was still good. Hahah, I didn't realize this post was going to be as long as it turned out when i started. Have fun! **EDIT** I will be posting the recipe a little more in depth on the culinary section. | Google water curing. Do that next time you get some fresh bud then air cure it for an extra week or two in an airtight jar. Should be bueno ![]() ![]() ![]()
