I ran dry and spent the past week walking around Haight and Ashbury, but cops are everywhere and I can't find anyone selling. Is it because I'm asian and wear glasses? Anyways, I lived here my whole life, but haven't really seen the city and need something to do to kill time over winter break.

Go to some areas with headshops or record stores, places with a more historic, or 'bohemian'/organic feel. Your more likely to find a ballsy dealer who will sell to the public, be careful though... Maybe toss on a Bob Marley shirt for good measure

My friends lives in San Francisco bay and he says he gets bothered by people trying to sell him drugs and buds all the time. Then again he looks the part of drug-user/stoner, haha....

Apparently the Haight isn't what it was 40 years ago when I was there!

The best way to find weed, in my experience, is to ask a pot-smoking friend where to get some. If you don't have a pot-smoking friend, look for an obvious stoner, preferably one who is in the act of smoking and will give you a hit. That's pretty good insurance that the "stoner" isn't really a cop. Back in the late 60s, you couldn't walk ten feet in Golden Gate Park without someone trying to sell you weed (and other things).

You must have started smoking in college. If you'd been smoking in high school, you'd have connections in town.

Ya, I started in college. My high school seemed pretty clean, and none of my friends smoked except this one guy that would go to Jamaica to toke up with his family.

If you're in the haight head on over to hippy hill. You'll find at least 10 people that are willing to sell, usually it's middies or a little better and it's pretty expensive, but it still gets you high. Last time I went there, there was a guy wearing a giants hat with a black dog, i think a lab, he sold me an 8th for 50, definitely not cheap but i wouldn't expect any less from someone there. Just walk around for a bit and I can guarantee you at someone will offer to sell, just tell em you're looking for w/e amount and name the price and see what happens. If they turn it down chances are you can get em down a few dollars from what they want. I wouldn't buy too much though cause it's never high end.

well you live in california, just run up to humboldt and ask every person you see their has to be one person that is willing to sell and humboldt has some chronic, that should solve the herb problem, i cant imagine not being able to find a dealer, your the first person in cali i have heard of not being able

Humboldt is like a 5 hour drive each way from San Francisco. You're better off walking around SF for 5 hours checking prices lol.
